Although, it seems silly on the surface, if it caused a standown from going into the Ukraine, it would be worth it.

Further, it would allow us to monitor their ships.

I'm not anti Russian, and we would be better off as allies than enemies, as we are forcing more co-operation with China as it is now.

If sanctions occur, you can be sure China will step in to assist Russia, and only hurt us further.

I've said before, we and Russia need to squeeze Europe for energy, as we both have it to export, especially as they go green, and come to rely more on natural gas.
