If Howard Cosell were doing the intro:
The importance that our society attaches to sport is incredible. After all, is football a game or a religion? The people of this country have allowed sports to get completely out of hand. i shall continue to call it like i know it to be.
and now ladies and gentlemen, we find ourselves in, could there be a more incongruous appellation adhered to a venue than Lucas Oil Stadium, the city of Indianapolis, no great football tradition this, and nothing against the city, but the Colts, those storied teams of Alan Ameche, John Mackey, Lenny Moore and yes, the original field general, Johnny U, to take nothing away from the brother of one of this years quarterbacks, a latter day Johnny U himself, Peyton Manning, he of the incredible Manning family, should be in Baltimore.
the new york football giants and the boston patriots...newly minted as the new england patriots, these teams themselves have great tradition in their own right, a heavy weight fight, predictably with haymakers flying, we may be on the cusp of witnessing. no historic defense here, no, hobbled by rule changes and each team facing quarterbacks who wish to go down in history themselves, we may just be on the verge of a donnybrook.
and now...Dandy, your thoughts....
Dandy:
aww come-on Howard....
