Default Really new Obamacare numbers

You know those people who don't have healthcare...you know, the ones that needed Obamacare? Okay, the White House is now touting 2.2 million enrollees but it has been discovered that only 11% of those people never had healthcare. The rest of the new enrollees HAD health insurance before they signed up. Or all this has happened to cover 242,000 people or the population of Birmingham, AL. Why would someone "give up" their health insurance? First reason is that they had no choice. They got cancelled, needed, and could afford to enroll. The second is that they decided that paying for their healthcare on the private market was too expensive so they changed over to a policy that someone else would help pay for.

You're against 242,000 people getting health insurance?

Let's see, if the government spent $5,000 a year on a policy for each, the annual cost to insure all of them would be $1.2 billion....

Gee, that's less than the feds have paid out to those bozos who set up the Obamacare website, isn't it?

But you can't tell a libtard to "do the math", can you? They are severely math-challenged. And since they love to spend other people's money, they don't give a rat's ass about finding simple, low-cost solutions.

1. The enrollment period goes to March 2014. So right now there about 800,000 off
target. They were expecting 3 million signups for the 12/31/13 date. There is still 10 weeks left for the enrollment period, to reach the target of 6 million for the year.

2. You only get the subsidy if you are family of 4 and in the income range of > $24,000 and < $ 96,000. It's one large risk pool of high risk and low risk people of the individual market.

3. Only 2 percent of the policies were cancelled. So, 98% of all policyholders got to keep their old policy. Wellpoint continued the old policies. Atena said there was not enough time to go back restore the old policies.

4. The cost of prescription drug program by Bush is almost as much as Obamacare and that just helps seniors pay for their medications. We know entitlements by are OK, as long as they are started by a Republican.

5. JD, you and Clownboy have nothing but hot air.

You are lying again. They were expecting 6 million newly insured people, not "3 million signups." According to an industry survey, most of those 2.2 million people who signed up for O-care before Dec 31 already had insurance. Of course, those aren't the Official White House Talking Point Numbers. The White House Numbers are cloaked, nebulous or not ready for public scrutiny.

I'm curious Flighty what your definition of success is come say the end of March 2014? How close do you think they are going to get to the 6 million newly insured people?

here's where your 6 million people come into play ..

From the CBO:
"After accounting for those who will not be subject to the penalty tax, CBO and JCT (Joint Committee on Taxation) now estimate that about 6 million people will pay a penalty because they are uninsured in 2016 (a figure that includes uninsured dependents who have the penalty paid on their behalf) and that total collections will be about $7 billion in 2016 and average about $8 billion per year over the 2017â??2022 period.
Those estimates differ from projections that CBO and JCT made in April 2010: About two million more uninsured people are now projected to pay the penalty each year, and collections are now expected to be about $3 billion more per year."

apparently morons don't want people to have insurance so they must want people to pay a penalty .

Not lying gnadfly, the target for the 12/31/13 date was 3 million people. The target for the March 2014 is 6 million people. Half of the 2.2 million signups have paid their premium. Some health insurance companies have pushed out the due date for first premium to Jan 30, 2014. So, there is still 10 calendar days left to pay. A lot of people wait to the last minute to pay their bills.

It's hard to say how many more will sign up. The more people that sign up and pay their premium the cheaper the rates will be for next year. I don't think they will get 6 million this year. I think they can get between 4 and 5 million. The website did not work for 2 months. Almost 2 million people signed up in December 2013 to have their insurance effective 1/1/14.

The bottom line is there is nothing preventing anyone from getting health insurance with the ACA and the expanded Medicaid. Regardless of income level or pre-existing conditions anyone can get health insurance in the individual market.

1. I am not willing to suck anyone's dick.
2. How do you know what size dick anyone has, did you see him naked?
3. Do you bat from both sides of the plate?
4. There were 253 million health insurance policies in force last year. 5 million out of 253 million is 2 percent.

5. Most of the insured got to keep their policies. Most of the states and health insurance companies tried to restore the cancelled policies. Aetna was one company and there are others who were not able to restore the cancelled policies.
6. You once said Bush did not lie about the WMD's that he was mistaken.
7. Well Obama did not lie about the cancelled policies, he was mistaken.

Sorry, but you've been spouted White House talking points for so long you may have fooled yourself. The target has always been 6 million NEWLY insured.
Not
-6 million people accessing the website
-6 million people registering on the website
-6 million people choosing a policy
-6 million people selecting and paying for a policy
but 6 million people who DID NOT have private insurance last year getting a new Obama approved private insurance policy and paying for it.

They aren't even close. You know all of the above. You are lying, or, at the least, fooling yourself.

I don't think they will get 2 million NEWLY insured people in the system. Of course, you and the White House will start touting how many people will sign up for 2015!

You are lying again. Just because they signed up in Dec 2013 doesn't mean their insurance is effective 1/1/14. Their insurance becomes effective when they begin making payments. They have until the end of January. Obama and the insurance company may even extend that time.

Few people were prevented from getting private health insurance in the private market in the past. Yes, some people were denied and it was more expensive but that's another one of the Obama exaggerations.
