Paul Simon Concert, Good Time

Anyone else out there go? I thought it was great. Almost 2hrs from really old stuff with new arrangements to his new CD. Sound was super, for an arena. Good crowd, off course mostly older like myself.
Would have been fantastic if at Bass instead of Cedar Park.

Went to thee Cedar Park venue for a Cirque Soliel event sometime back, and swore I wouldn't go there again even if Jesus Christ was doing a free, walk on water event. Parking sucked, staff sucked, event site was ridiculous.. It's a shame, I've skipped some good shows there, just because of the venue..

When he collaborated with Garfunkel he unleashed on the world a fast-paced series of sublime tunes with poetic lyrics and wonderful melodies. These songs were not only amazing in their content but their diversity. No two arrangements were even similar much less alike.

But after he split with Garfunkel it was pretty much stale.

The magic was over, for decades and decades.

The Gods permit only brief glimpses into their worlds, and if you turn away because of the cost you will lose their currency forever.

I disagree with all the negatives (except one). Wife and I were there last night and the concert was fantastic IMHO. The sound was great and what is I love about performers like Paul Simon is that you can clearly hear and undertand each word. And Simon's back-up band was amazing! I agree with Nuglet that Cedar Park is far from an ideal arena for a concert but I would return any time for such an event. But $15 for parking was a bit extreme.

ditto on the parking.. The time I went (first and last) I wasn't aware of a parking fee, but even worse.... you had to have cash, (no plastic) and it had to be correct change. They made us park by the entrance, go to the ticket booth, get change, and then walk all the way back to pay the "gate keeper" before being allowed to enter. I asked.."since you are getting all the "correct change from everyone, I'd think you could change a $20!!!"

Yeah he's a great musican, but when he worked with Garfunkel he was a genius composer and lyricist.

Just listen to the lyrics of any of the songs he recorded with Garfunkel.

The poetry of the lyrics is unparalleled.

His work with Garfunkel will be a marvel for centuries.
