its a 2 hour drive for me but I would drive up to des Moines for that

They're not easy to put together and you need to find one person who you all trust to screen/verify everyone who plans on attending. Then there's food, drinks, location, discretion.....etc.

I've hosted them in Omaha and Kansas City numerous times.

I'm sure this would take some work, especially the screening as u mentioned. Would really like to meet some of the ladies here & that visit here regularly that I haven't had the opportunity to meet. Side benefit w/b hoisting a few adult beverages w/some of the gentleman on this board.

I knew there was a reason I like you Vegas! Spent many, many years in the QC! I'm often tempted to go back and get shit-faced at RIBCO with some quality live music and end the night with a Magic Mountain at Ross'. A lot of great memories growing up on the Mighty Miss as well...

I'm assuming a thing near the upcoming holidays is bad timing for most?
Wondering if the weekend will work or does it have to b a week night?
This one is for Ms. E since she's been involved in setting this typed thing up b4 (or anyone else that's been involved in setting one of these up) If the weekend works for most, is there enough time to set it up for 12/13 or 12/14? Or do we need to plan for after the New Year?

Community M&Gs have been around for years.

Pay attention to MsElena's caution in post #5.

We in San Antonio and elsewhere have found it entirely possibly to use public venues early in the week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays) for the most part.

Coordination is crucial, as are respect for the event rules, respect for the venue's rules and very careful screening and vouching.

ive read the CR ones were usually fun. i agree one could be fun, but also just be on the side of caution and not do anything too obvious or in poor taste
