I would not call myself a musician by any stretch of the imagination but I do own a few guitars, one acoustic, one acoustic electric, and one electric . I go through periods where I will practice and play and then I go through periods where they sit in their cases. right now I am in a sitting in cases period.I cant play by ear and my eyesight is so bad I cant read the music.
\My first guitar that I have ever owned is my Yamaha and it has a superior sound rivaling some of the best Martins. My other is a Martin with a very good sound but I need to restring. The electric is a Gibson Les Paul with a Marshall amp. I want one more to fill my collection but have not been looking for awhile. I would like to find a hollow body electric, one of the BB King Lucile models would be awesome but they are expensive.
For some reason I lost one of my music books, I think my SO threw it out with some magazines in one of her cleaning moods whe3re she did not look at what she was chucking out. It had Brown eyed girl in it and I was looking forward to working on that one myself. Most of what I work on are Neil Young, Dylan, and such. Good luck, it is a blast when you can finally play one all the way through, especially if you are like me and have zero musical talent.

Epiphone makes a nice copy of Lucille at a big savings over the Gibson. I've never owned a Lucille but I've owned Gibson Les Paul's and the Epiphone copy. There's a difference but not a $1,500 difference IMO.

The correct term is Bone-a-phone.
Yeah, the Les Paul is more of an investment piece as it will hold its value.
The Gibson hollow bodies are very expensive in relation to the Epiphones.
Gretsch is also a good brand that is not quite as expensive and is fairly readily available.
Lots of cheap knock-offs out there but you never know.
I need to find a program that will basically scroll the music in a format that I can see but, I am not holding my breath.
For what it is worth, I enjoy just picking around on them and creating my own sounds. I like to have them available for my more talented friends that can pick them up and entertain while we sit around and enjoy some adult refreshments.

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...........wh at! No, I was just waiting for Whatzup to make a comment about Candy's fascination with the skin flute. Carry on.
For the record and it has been over 20 years; piano, trumpet, saxophone, clarinet and contra-bass. Always wanted to learn the violin or guitar.

Shoulda guessed from that avatar with the Marshall stack. I played electrics until the kids came along. Doesn't work anymore.
Regarding Epiphone v. Gibson....no doubt the Gibson's are better guitars. But, the Epiphones are great guitars for the money. I owned a double-cut Les Paul and a traditional, in black.....and they are fabulous instruments. I sold them because they were better than I am,..... and now have a quilted butternut Epiphone Les Paul that is a very nice guitar.
