Lake Charles and Lafayette - eat and sleep?

Okay... I need some help! I am visiting Lafayette and Lake Charles next month for the first time. Ideas on where to stay (areas) and were not to stay? Also, great places to eat! I love finding the best local places for a quiet relaxing meal all to myself. (Unless I get a dinner date, of course... LOL)

Ideas??? Suggestions???

As far as lake charles--Lauberge casino is the nicest(could maybe get you a room if you like to Barter). If you want a hotel stay Close to interstate 210 and west of Enterprise. Great food at
121 bistro(best in town) mazens-sha shas.

Lafayette hotels ate best off Pinhook and Kaliste Saloon. Guidry's reef has great seafood across from the Hilton.

Hey sweet lady ..... Lauberge is the nicest in LC .... Your friend LL ,normally stays there ........the food there is also very good.....the holiday inn on lake st is also a quality hotel.....

Mazens has 2 locations one is Mediterranean the other is seafood .. both are an excellent choice ..... IMHO harlequin Has the best steak in town ... Very nice upper scale restaurant...


If you want the chain hotels ..... Most anything you can imagine is here to sulphur, la which is conveniently just across the lake......

I agree with Cajun01.... Stay west of enterprise .... The problem with those on I-210 (west Prien Lake rd ) is visibility ....guests have to park on one of the busiest sts. in town...

Bon Temps in Lafayette on Verot school road. Great food , unique Cajun menu and superb dirty martinis.

There are about 12 hotels around the Pinhook/Kaliste Saloom intersection, stay away from Evangeline Thruway and I-10. Lafayette also has some of the best restaurants.
