Still, he found the case presented by the president’s defense team unpersuasive. Romney had a hard time believing, for example, that Trump had been acting out of a desire to crack down on corruption when he tried to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter. The Bidens’ alleged conflicts of interest may have been “ugly,” Romney said, but it was never established that they warranted a criminal investigation. “No crime was alleged by the defense, and yet the president went to an extreme level to investigate these two people … and for what purpose?” The only motive that made sense, he determined, was a political one.

I like how the repubs yell that the impeachment was strictly a partisan event by the demos. ALL impeachments are partisan.
Romney was the only one with a conscience from that party.
And watching the vote, it wasn't partisan.
Only the repubs backed trump.
Every other political party voted for impeachment. So, that is two parties against one. (dem+indie vs repub)

The Democrat from Alabama, where Trump is practically a demi-god, was touted by Republicans as the most likely to defect. Mitch McConnell says he's driven a nail in his political coffin.

And now instead of there being a Democrat who broke ranks with his party, it's the Republicans who couldn't muster a unanimous vote within their own party.

They already wrote another book. Titled Profiles in Corruption. Think it's currently #2 in non-fiction on Amazon. Though I do find it lacking. Lacking in anonymous sources, that is. Instead, he used actual, documented, facts - unlike the impeachment hoax.
