Was watching BBCA when the story was breaking, and then again this morning. Here's an update: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012...ice-raid-house They arrested a suspect.

Reports quoted police as saying the man barricaded inside the house had told them he wanted to avenge the deaths of Palestinian children. He was described as a French national with an Algerian mother. The man already arrested is said to be his brother. . . .

The French interior minister, Claude Guéant, said in Toulouse the suspect "talks a lot" and was communicating with police officers through his front door, talking about his "engagements" with al-Qaida. The man's mother had been taken to the location and asked to reason with him, but said she did not want to and had "no influence over him".

Will not formulate an opinion until more details are revealed.

He was in Afghanistan prisons before being released and returned to France !

This is where it becomes a bit hard for me as a British Jew to be liberal on such things as religious tolerance. Isn't enough that my relatives in Tel Aviv and Haifa have to be worried daily about missile attacks from Syria and Lebanon? Now more of this RUBBISH from Muslim nutters in France? However, ya never see Orthodox Jews carry on like this! What are my people going to do--pray you to death? Its odd to me really how they interpret their religious texts. Kayla is right again. In the US a liberal has to adhere to the entire doctrine to be a member in good standing. Gun ownship is a big no no. Wanting to use it on someone (good cause or not) and you get excommunicated from liberalism. Unless you are a celebrity.
Also liberals have already proclaimed this attack as a lone wolf, aberration attack by one emotionally unstable person. They have refused (so far) to call this a terrorist attack. I think in a day or two they will have to bow to the obvious but will come up with some reason like the shootings in Afghanistan to justify an attack on Jews (children) in France. Let the contortions begin.

I do own one gun. But, in fact its in a lock box in Barclay's bank in Manchester. It was a gift from me cousin in Israel. I was on a joint program with the SBS and Israeli Navy. Any how I was merely venting...

I have some mates that vote straight Labour back in the UK that go fox hunting a couple times during season. So, some of us libs do indeed own guns and go hunting. They (my mates) would argue its the sport they fancy rather than the guns. We've argued this many times.
