Not knowing what brought these girls here, I never check out the rotasian scene for that reason.

There was an offbeat and now closed gas station around the Harlan area that featured massages and there was clearly a rotasian waiting for a client. She looked miserable. Turned me off from the entire concept.

The Girls (DSM area amps and rotasians) I've spoken with through translation apps have explained to me that they are here on a tourist visa. They are sex workers back home as well. Or at least on the fringes of it. Basically they come here for like 2-3 months, make lots of cash, and go home. They have their schedules in their phones of when they will be moving and when they will be back again. They try to get me to come back. They speak freely about themselves through app translation. I've been shown photos of their kids who they were proud of. I've never gotten the impression they are held against their will. This has just been my experience and impression. Take that for what it's worth I guess. I suppose it still qualifies as "human trafficking". But I've never had impression they weren't OK with it.

I would guess there's more bad situations among some of the non-asians on STG (and BP before) than among these girls. But because these girls are foreign there may be some unearned assumptions there (and part of that comes from the police making up shit about 'trafficking' with places like these and AMPs that never sticks when court time comes)
