Default Killing Kennedy reviews

Perhaps your time was preoccupied watching another Cowboy loss Sunday evening, but Killing Kennedy was aired at the same time. The movie was based upon Bill O'Reilly's best selling book with the same title.

Here's a two part question: Before viewing the movie, had you read the book?

Regardless, what's your opinion of the movie?

I was dissappointed with the film. I thought the plot bounced around excessively, and to be direct, this show would have been better entitled Killing Oswald.

The movie reminded me again of why many authors are reluctant to agree (for a considerable amount of cash) to having their work adopted into a movie.

I didn't read the book, but being from Dallas and having traveled to the Ruth Paine house in Irving (near the Irving PD, if you are ever in the area) I was disappointed they didn't use the real home exterior shot, which they did for the rooming house at 1026 Beckley in Oak Cliff. The Officer Tippet location at Tenth and Patton (though the High School has expanded all the way to the intersection in the last two years) is also accessible and they didn't use it.
It does look like they used the Texas Theater and the Sixth Floor. The movie may or may not have used the location where Marina took the photo of LHO holding the rifle in a different Oak Cliff boarding house(Neely St?), but it was a perfect replica.
They didn't use the correct burial location, either. (Shannon Rose Hill Burial Park, Lancaster Road)
I did like the movie, it had a good timeline and didn't promote looney theories about alleged conspiracies.

why would any intelligent, sane person read a book written by Bill 'who needs facts...my opinions are all the facts i need dammit' O'Reilly?

Yes, I read the book, it was okay.

I didn't watch all the movie, just the ending.

I didn't think they used the original Texas Theater or the 6th floor, but I could be wrong.

They may not have, but it looked real.

I read the book, and have read Killing Lincoln and have just bought Killing Jesus. I like all three and think it's more the editorial assistant (ghostwriter) but O'Reilly was a history teacher at one point.
There's no way to put the whole story in a one hour film and considering this, my opinion is that it was an excellent film.
(I know it's all accurate because I was the third gunman on the grassy knoll.)

I just looked at the movie on IMDB

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2815030/...?ref_=tt_dt_dt

Looks like everything was filmed in Virginia.

That's BOGUS!

For Kennedy affair novels, I prefer James Ellroy's "American Tabloid", a really wild ride that smashes headlong into the lampost at the corner of Fact and Fiction.

Amen, but it's probably a sock puppet writing the books. He drools almost as much as Rick Perry.

O'Reilly has a co-author: Martin Dugard.

The lady who played Marina was much hotter than the one who played Jackie.

I don't think they spent enough time talking about The grassy knoll

I read the book, watched last half of the movie. Rose Hill Park, LHO's burial site is located on the corner of Lancaster Ave & Sandy Lane bordered by Craig St. to the north.

I drove by there and found it a few years ago, very insignificant. It's right beside the footstone that says Nick Beef which is another story in and of itself.
