Default Yu Darvish and near perfection....

Anybody see that game last night? 8 and 2/3 innings of perfection. One out away from a perfect game. What a heartbreaker.

Yep; at least it was Darvish who had the chance to make the 27th out...grounder thru his legs..........

I saw Rodgers pitch his perfect game in 1994 at Arlington Ballpark.....what a memory.

Watched every pitch. My sons and I were on edge from about the 6th, when it started looking like something special was happening. Yu had it going on for 7 innings, nasty stuff. Started hanging his breaking stuff in the 8th and was lucky to get out of that inning. It was a hanger out over the plate that the dude hit up the middle to take away the perfect game. Bummer...

A buddy of mine was in San Fran last June to see the U.S. Open and was at Matt Cain's perfect game. But he left in the 6th inning because he was tired from traipsing all over The Olympic Club!!??!! I'll never let him live that down.

I can still visualize Rusty Greer's diving catch in the 9th to save Rodger's perfect game...wow.

LA Angels Hudler hit a slicing liner to right-center which rookie center fielder Rusty Greer snagged in a full dive. On the crack of the bat, the ball park went dead silent, all heads following the ball; then total eruption when Greer came up good !

One of my best baseball memories...............

Yeah, 26 outs in a row without a walk, a hit, an error or run. What a pussy? Seriously? He dominated.

It was magic. I would have bet serious money he was gonna get 27. But, it's baseball. So it goes.

It was a pretty decent outing! I expect at least one no hitter against the half Astros this year. They struck out 43 times in the three game series against Arlington.

Yu snagging that ball would have been epic but you can't fault him. An almost impossible play. What a game.

Leave it to Assup to throw a grenade in a non-confrontational thread. Yep, he's a pussy alright...

Darvish's 14 strikeouts is not pussy pitching....I don't think AssUp watches baseball..did he just call the Rangers Arlington ?

No...i wasn't faulting him...it was a solid hit and snagging it would have been a great catch.

I know you weren't faulting him.

It was awesome to watch how clueless the Astro's hitters were when trying to deal with his pitches. They were swinging at shit that was landing in the dirt a few inches behind the plate. They were clueless, no idea where the pitches were going. What a performance. Darvish's off-speed stuff is incredible.

What was making me crazy last night was the commentary during the game by Buzby and Grieve that it might be appropriate to pull Darvish from the game because he had a blister on his finger or something. I was ready to kick the TV in...this guy is pitching a perfect game and they're talking about how it might be best to pull him? Bullshit.

I thought my 9 year old was going to bust out into tears when it ended. I was close myself. After those two quick outs, I thought it was absolutely going to happen.

Man, he had some nasty stuff going, didn't he? Some pinpoint shit. It's going to be fun to watch him this season. The rest of the rotation? We'll see.
