Heres where you are wrong again, I had four brothers in laws, two were gay, the one who wasn't openly gay had to be publicly confronted by our entire family, because we knew he was gay, and not bringing his partner to family events, because he was still hiding him, and his lifestyle.

We told him bluntly, bring your partner as he's part of your life and we won't tolerate you excluding him from us.

And, by all the "Expectations" of your side, instead of being loving conservative family members, you would have expected the entire family to lynch the two of them just for being gay if they ever appeared at a family event together.
