Exclamation 11 earthquakes in North Texas (Claymore) areas and direct link to Fracking

They are saying its the disposal of waste water from Fracking being put back into the earth that is causing the faults (plates) to slip in places where no seismic activity has occurred before.

I'm no geologist, but changing the structural composition of the earth has to have some impact. We'll only find out with time.

I like the title "suggested". So non committal and covers everything. I think we need a hydraulic specialist rather than a seismologist.

You know, I can't pin down this Charles Choi. I can't find out what he does besides write. Does he have any training as a scientist?

Why would we listen to a seismologist regarding earthquakes when we can listen to a hydraulics specialist?
Beyond the force that a fluid can generate or deliver, what does he bring to an earthquake party?

The same thing you do.

Nothing.

You Texans. Quakes measuring less than 3.0? Some of you fat fuckers fart and it generates a quake that large. Many go unreported, according to the report. Yeah, and so how many of these quakes occurred and went unreported because you didn't have instruments in the area to test for such small shit?

Good lord. Come on out to CA, ride out Northridge or something like that and experience a real fucking earthquake. I am still laughing at the "less than 3.0" comment in the article.

I was watching what they were saying, and apparently the 3.4 to 3.7 earthquakes have only shattered windows and cracked buildings structures. The problem is that the gas pipelines underground and other type pipes were not built to withstand any type of earthquake. They said that no earthquakes have ever occurred in these areas before and that it was not required that underground structures be built to a code that is usually used for earthquake prone areas. If you look at the map of where all these earthquakes occurred which were all within a 1-2 month span during the Fracking you see the areas are right next to where the Fracking is being performed.

I am still wondering where you are getting your information besides a writer for the Huffington Post. Have no idea if there is any truth in your statements.

Those of us in the good ole US of A that don't like drilling for oil and fracking, question. What are you doing about it? Do you have your A/C running? Do you ride a bike to work? Do you cook on an open fire? Do you purchase products that made it to market in a truck and that were produced in an electric powered factory? Personally, my A/C is on, I drive a really fast car, and I use gas to cook on because I'm a culinary snob and a fabulous cook.

Now, you see how the retards in the Teapublican movement treat information. They DISMISS it with crass comments. Just for the sake of argument, I'll take on Bullcorn's question about how do we know they are qualified to write about seismic activity.

Well, Barleybrains, we have more proof of that person's qualifications than having to forgive all of your recorded logic gaffes and spelling errors here in the Sandbox. We absolutely know Barleybrains is not fit to teach college age kids yet he says that is what he does.

LMAO!

Thank you for your informative posts, Sensia!

I am glad you addressed Boltfan's insidious remarks as well!

OF COURSE earthquakes in areas where earthquakes are not a frequent occurrence pose the potential of doing greater damage. Building codes in those areas often do not require the same "earthquake-proofing" precautions. Therefore, those smaller quakes may do greater damage even when they measure less on the Richter Scale!

Now, the resident morons here can go back to watching FAUX "News" where they get dumber and dumber every day!
