I like to think I am taking the high road already, because as much as I hate Trump, I was disgusted at the fact that there was an assassination attempt. Whereas, less read people were saying the kid should had aimed to the right more and wanted to see him dead... Wanting to see another American dead is the most un-American thing you can want.

Also, the gaslighting of both parties is astounding. The amount of "you're an absolute retard for disagreeing with my political beliefs" is offensive in and of itself. I've disagreed with many family members over their party affiliation for most of my life, but it's never interfered with our actual relationship. Now, we can't even be in the same room together. Claiming to genuinely know each other because of the party affiliation is just wrong, but we've been gaslit to believing that WE are the problem.
