"I'm leaving the Senate now, but I'm not leaving the fight. I've decided to join The Heritage Foundation at a time when the conservative movement needs strong leadership in the battle of ideas," DeMint said in a statement. "No organization is better equipped to lead this fight and I believe my experience in public office as well as in the private sector as a business owner will help Heritage become even more effective in the years to come."
You know what really cracks me up is what you fools think " The Tea Party " is.
Only a Dem would think that balancing a check book is a radical idea.

Smart Move. Gov Haley will appoint another Conservative, and DeMint goes from a $174,000 a year job to (just an estimate), over $500,000.
It's a win-win for the Republicans. They get DeMint out of the way so they can go more to the center, and DeMint goes to a place where he can do some good for the Conservative Movement.
Whether the Tea Party id crumbling will not really be known untill the 2014 mid terms.

Lama, DeMint is taking the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and running, just like your girl Sara.
He see's the writing on the wall, the Tea Party's best days are in the rear view mirror. Being their leader is like being Gen. Custer. You lead your heard to slaughter.

The Tea Nuts are a brand that only works in mid terms. It has no broad appeal.

And you Tea Nuts do not think they are playing you for all your worth?
Dick Armey, the former Congressman who helped build and eventually chair the Tea Party group FreedomWorks, resigned from the group amid an internal clash, according to multiple reports. Armey will receive an $8 million

HA.
The relative position of the two parties remains very close, and the nation evenly divided. Democrats have the edge "horizontally" at the national level, while Republicans have a large advantage "vertically" at the state level. The GOP holds 30 of the 50 governors and has full control (both houses of the legislature and the governorship) in 23 states compared to 12 for the Democrats. The United States is far from being anything like a pure blue nation. Republicans have both a legitimate claim and the power to exercise a significant role in governing.

When mostly old whit folks vote, the GOP does very well. It does not do as well in national elections. The Tea party will do even worse in national elections. Look how you did in the Senate when you had Tea Nut choices.

There is only 1 national election. Senate races are not national elections....Cruze in Texas crushed the GOP establishment and the Democrats. As did Rand Paul. As had Jerry Moran and Mike Lee.
Most issue polling supports TP positions by overwhelming margins.

Texas is a tea Nut state. Look who we have as Gov?
Rand Paul did not crush anybody , in fact I doubt he will get re-elected.
Had you not run those wacky Tea Nuts in 2010 and this year, the GOP would control the Senate. The Tea Nuts are in retreat in their on party. This deMint move is a case in point.

The TP agenda is NOT in retreat. Where do you come up with those crazy ideas?
True, some TP organizations are in flux. But that translate into the principles falling out of favor.
And Rand Paul is doing very well in his home state. He will be a shoe in for re-election.

The Tea Party has no principles, so how could they fall out of favor!
