I became a hobbyist when I was 23 years old. I was the average college going nerd who was shy, sensitive nice guy, socially awkward, virgin, and never gotten past first base with a girl. I remember messing up during this time of my life, I was going to prison for quite sometime. I had never gotten laid before, no chick that I remember ever gave me a chance. I remember telling myself that I would rather be with a beautiful woman for my "first time", than to have some prison inmate be my "first time" against my will. Before I was arraigned to show up at court, I decided to give a local escort service a call.
She showed up at my hotel room. She was a beautiful Irish girl with red hair and green eyes, very Irish, her face was very similar to Kate Beckinsdale. She really took good care of me. Even to this day...I have never had a session as intense as the one I had with her. Perhaps that is why I cannot forget her, she really made my first time really count. I do miss her dearly wherever she is.
The next day I arrive at the court, the judge directs me towards the DA, and the DA tells me to follow her. She tells me she is dismissing the charges against me, but warns me against breaking the law again. I was happy to leave the court a free man and also happy because I had a great time too. This is how I became a hobbyist and have been one ever since...

WOW! What a story...thanks for sharing. I'll join in the response eventhough it was a post for hobbyist. (PROVIDER side) For me, as a hospice nurse, I was tired of people "DEAD AND DYING". I needed a change. I needed balance in my life. I'd always been a very sexual person. I started by screening for a friend, while she worked a regular job. After a few months and her incouragement I took the PLUNGE to the OTHER side. Possibly to never return. I am very low volume. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner in life.

How it all began...

One day, I was dying. As I lay in my rented hospital bed one afternoon, all hopped up on morphine, I gathered enough awareness to realize I was being given a sponge bath. Startled, I heard the bather say, "don't be afraid, I'm from hospice." She was hot. So hot that I told her I was feeling better and could I ask what time she got off. 'Actually,' she whispered, 'I've got a night job that I think you'll like even better...'

I rose from the dead that night and have been hobbying ever since.

666, Great post...It was a gradual progression of sorts for me...I have always had a very strong and erotic response to a beautiful female. It started with porn, progressed to stripclubs, to now what is the hobby (and that was a progression to what it is today). For me, the hobby can be summed up this way: You're with a beautiful woman, mesmerized by her every attribute, enjoying her. As you are with her, another woman, beautiful, with different attributes walks by and you're thinking, "damn, I want that"...nothing wrong with it, it's natural, at least for me it is. THAT is why I hobby and how it all started.

My story is plain and simple. A horrible sexless marriage led to a horrible divorce. After all the legal stuff completed decided the idea of marriage didn't work for me. So by accident met a provider in a bar one night and realized real quick over a year without sex my body had some catching up to do. Although I am more into the SB relationship now the providers I saw and see regenerate my life and keep me happy.

The break up of my marriage lead me to the hobby as well. My soon to be ex-wife will always be the love of my life and I would never had gotten into the hobby if it was not for our pending divorce. We split for various mundane reasons I worked too much and did not make enough money being the bottom line. I would still be with her if she would have me but I know she won't. So might as well have fun, right?

Well, my story is similar to some of the others. My wife is older, seven years older in fact, and due to mutual problems our sex life just quite pretty much. She went out of town just after a buddy of mine had told me about the dallas eros guide. I thought that was pretty great, until I found this site through provider, then she introduced me to P411. Twenty some odd thousand dollars later I can honestly say that I have helped stimulate the economy around the Dallas metroplex through this current downturn, and in turn met a whole bunch of really cool woman and had one hell of a good time. The problem is that it is so damned addictive, you start by seeing a gal when your wife is out of town, then once a month, once every couple of weeks, then you are trying to justify a couple times a week.

I married my college sweetheart and only the second girl I had ever been with. (Still happily married for more than 30 years) One night on a business trip a beautiful young lady approached me at the bar and asked me for a date. She was like no one I had ever been with, so I pushed aside fear and said yes. That was my first paid encounter and it was the late-90s. At that time, ads in the paper and yellow pages were a reliable source, but you got what arrived. Dallas and then Memphis also had some "model" studios that had nice girls now and then. Finally, the internet arrived and the world opened to me. I started a mission that began as finding girls that were unlike those I had seen (height, weight, measurements, hair color, nationality). It has turned into "so many girls, so little time and money." Now, 125+ encounters later, it just seems like there is still so much to see and do. And, I have met some incredible ladies that I never would have without the hobby.

Well for me, I was the serious student/serious minded guy caught in the snare of an uptight up-bringing. I never dated in high school or college because dating was "bad". That translated into any dating being serious almost to the point of engagement. Basically, I was programmed to find the perfect girl the first time out of the chute and marry her. Needless to say, that was way too much pressure-- especially given the fact as a teen, I was bombarded with the likes of Cheryl Tiegs, Kathy Ireland, etc. I needed a release and found it in strip clubs where I could cream my pants for $20. It soon escalated to trying out escort agencies where I finally popped my cherry. Eventually, I settled down and got married and stopped playing. After awhile, the allure of chasing hot women re-kindled my interest in playing the game.
