It's an interesting situation to say the least. We could potentially miss a few weeks, this is what happened last time there was a lockout in the late 80's. But it was a different time back then, there is so much more money in it now then there was back then, it seems like both sides will smarten up and get a deal done, especially because some cities only have stadiums just to play football games and hardly anything else, owner's like Jerry Jones needs to make use of his Billion dollar stadium.
But the thing is, as a Texans' fan, I think we should actually root for a lockout, at least for the few weeks. This would be a long-shot, but lets say we miss the first month of the season, that would mean we would not have to play the Colts, Dolphins, Saints, and Steelers, we would probably only win two of those games, at best, and if our remaining schedule looked like this:
VS Raiders-
@ Ravens
@ Titans-
VS Jaguars-
VS Browns-
@ Buccaneers-
@ Jaguars-
VS Falcons-
@ Bengals-
VS Panthers-
@ Colts-
VS Titans
This would probably be the easiest schedule in the NFL. We would be favored in almost every game with the exception of the Ravens, and Colts, that's potentially having a season going 9-2, that would very likely land us a #1 or #2 seed. The Texans could have a great shot of actually winning it all if this plays out! Granted, it's very unlikely this will happen, but you can never say never.
But apparently, the league might extend the season an extra 3 weeks to make up for potential games lost, I don't remember if they finalized a deal of this happening, but if they did, that would definitely change things. But it's still fun to fantasize..
