Columbus I need area assistance please.

Ok last time I was there I only stayed one day and I stayed on East Broad & I270.
Everyone that saw me said that I should of picked a better area because of the construction.
If you get closer to the air port it is considered the bad area of town and I was told to stay away from Reynolds. SO where is a good area with good hotels no construction and no cops bugging the area 24/7.?
When I went to Indy I had no idea where to go and I paid dearly for that..
So any help would in this would be appreciated .

GOT ZERO Responces and sure did not want to risk it decided to FLY BACK TO TEXAS where southern hospitality is given and expected . Maybe I'll Come back North next spring and try it ONE MORE again...LOL
