Its cold and depending on Mother Nature it occasionally will have snow and ice.
From ladies I have spoken to in the past January has been slow for them but I cannot speak for the current ladies. Of course if you come closer to March most gentleman will have their taxes done and possibly have a refund by than

Yep jan/feb are coldest months. Some days are worse than others though. March/April things start warming up.

That said, this is the Midwest and you can never know what the weather will be like. January last year wasn't too bad -- I remember a Facebook post joking about spring coming early because we were sitting on a patio for dinner. I did the Polar Plunge last year at Longview Lake on the last weekend of January and it was almost warm.
But it did get cold again in February. If you are making long term plans, you can't count on it being warm until March. But who cares what the temperature is outside? Hotel rooms have heat!
