After maintaining for quite some time that Lois Lerner’s emails are completely, definitely gone (maybe), it turns out that there’s now a different story.

According to Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton:

"Department of Justice attorneys for the Internal Revenue Service told Judicial Watch on Friday that Lois Lerner’s emails, indeed all government computer records, are backed up by the federal government in case of a government-wide catastrophe."

This event should never be allowed to die. When we have a government, regardless of the party affiliation, that has such a blatant disregard for the rights of the people we should be marching in the streets. Every single person that participated in the abuse by the government should be discovered and punished, not just as an example, but as a severe deterrent to those that would do the same in the future.

I'm not quite sure that the President should be impeached for the email scandal unless it can be shown he knowingly participated in it. The underlings involved may have thought they were doing exactly what he wanted, and they probably were, but I think constitutional protections extend to a defendant in every case. The President may be a partisan hack, and I don't care for him, but Lois Lerner lying about emails, and an orchestrated coverup of her malfeasance, is not sufficient to imprison him absent an overt act in support of the scheme.
