While Congress then acted much the same as the 2002/3 version, there was a significant anti-war group who did not. Granted, though the size of that movement at the time of the Gulf of Tonkin "Incident" was small compared to its number 5 years later, it was there and received coverage from the "lamestream media." And, as some "patriots" will point out, the anti-Viet Nam War movement was comprised in a large part of potential draftees who were, shall we say, not real keen on being sacrificed in a war the USA was not trying to win - but THAT is a topic for another thread.

No news here. And, no point, either.

I viewed Grenada as an "extraction" .. not a war with another country. And ...

MopBoy, there's no such thing as "dangerous territory" for me where you are concerned. The invasion, extraction, whatever of Granada was a feel-good grandstand play whereby the matchup was akin to Ali taking on some 5th grader. But Clint Eastwood did get a nice little movie out of it. Who gives a rat's ass whether or not they used your ship or a bull ship when they made the flick. Much was made at the time of how the good ol' USA needed to have a win, any kind of a win and it was ballyhooed about how we would just get in and get out.
