Republicans haven't faired much better when putting out status quo candidates either.

They screw Bernie out of a nomination again, this will give Trump a guaranteed 2nd term.

In most national polls Biden is leading Sanders for the Democratic nomination. Biden is the one Democratic candidate who leads almost all polls in a match-up against Trump.

Obviously conditions may change in the next 6 months but if the Democratic convention was held today and Biden won, it would not be a "screwing" of Sanders. Let's see how voting goes in the primaries.

There are many polls run by many different companies. Sanders leads in some, Biden leads in most. Recent polls in Texas and Florida have Biden way ahead.

Yes, for whatever reasons, Sanders is popular with the younger voters.

Yes, for whatever reasons, Sanders is popular with the younger voters.

Maybe Sanders is ahead of his time, hence the appeal with younger voters. It would be awesome if they got more involved in politics, but I imagine that humping randos on Tinder keeps them preoccupied.

Seriously, I don't know what to think. My gut feeling is that Sanders is more of a fighter, and Biden is more of a teddy bear. So all polls aside, it seems like Sanders is a better match for Trump.

But Biden has more support from the party establishment, so he's got that going for him. It could also work against him, given the populist sentiment nowadays. Sanders is the scrappy upstart, and that could work in his favor.

The New York Post has an article today reporting that Biden kissed his granddaughter on the lips. Seriously? They're gonna go with that? I've been kissed on the lips by a grandparent, but maybe it's a generational thing.

The personal attacks on Biden and dragging his family into politics just makes me more inclined to support him. But Sanders is really more on my wavelength.

Super Tuesday is exactly one month from today. I'll have to think about it more.

But which candidate, Sanders or Biden, has the best chance to beat Trump in November? My money is on Biden right now. Bernie scares many voters by being too far left. I can already see the Republican strategy striking fear into the hearts of voters with threats of the U.S. becoming a socialistic country.

Yeah, that's definitely a concern. But there was a poll to try to see how the "socialism" stigma would affect Bernie's popularity in a head-to-head contest against Trump, and branding him a socialist didn't do much to change people's responses. Not the same as a months-long fear-mongering campaign, but still something to consider.

Maybe, but Hillary just said that she will support Bernie if he wins the nomination. You know, denial anger bargaining depression and acceptance.

And while there are reports that Obama might try to sideline Bernie if he makes significant gains, he is also on record that he will work his tail off to support whoever wins the nomination.

It's still early days, and too early to predict what might happen before the nomination. It's true that Obama doesn't prefer Bernie over mainstream Democrats, but he will likely make the only reasonable choice if there is a reversal in fortunes.
