Just Who The Hell Is Running This Country!?
There is an interesting article on Wikipedia that chronicles scandals associated with state and local political figures. The page is so long that the scroll bar is almost impossible to see.
Fraud, bribery, professional misconduct, misuse of funds, conspiracy? Bet on it. Assault, battery, rape, kidnapping? Yep, all of that. Worse? Probably the fact that so many get to walk away with a little less money and a lot of embarrassment rather than the justice that you or I might expect to receive, but we already knew that didn't we?
So, go check out the list and take a gander at just who the hell is running this country. Any surprises?

The men (not women) who founded this country were drinkers, slavers, womanizers, landlords, lawyers, debtors, and the aristocrisy. Why would anything change over time. It becomes a matter of who can control their baser instincts in the public interest. Most people, even on the right, didn't care that Clinton got sucked off in the Oval Office. Pretty tacky to be sure but the problem was the cover up and actions taken to destroy people (Monica still can't hold a job but Bill gets millions of speaking fees) to cover up the truth. Same thing for Obama, why doesn't he just come out and tell us what he really means when he talked about hope and change.
A man can be personally corrupt and publicly honest. Not easy, but it can be done.
What surprises me is that so few women are caught up in this. Not that I think they are above reproach but that they somehow cover it up better. That reminds me of a new TV show that has promise. "How to Get Away with Murder" is about a black, female defense attorney and professor of law. In the very first episode we see her having a nasty affair in her office and home (husband is away on business) and then she crucifies her lover (a police detective) on the witness stand but he doesn't give her up. She is see by one of her students who she gives a very hard time to but he doesn't give her up. Her reputation is above reproach but her assistant (a white man) is the subject of gossip about him and every attractive student in the law school. How does she do it. In in other words, how does Hillary do it. Plenty of rumors but no one willing to confirm them. Fear? A payoff? Quid pro quo?

Like Obama, you'd probably fuck that up as well. You wouldn't bring enough and you'd leave too soon leaving everyone fustrated.

It is scary. And the people keep electing and re-electing corrupt and dishonest people. It's insane. Then you'll see people on here defending corruption. No wonder the U.S. is in the shape it's in.

Yeppers ! It is sad.
1) The president is a liar and a fraud.
2) The former IRS chair pleads the 5th after political targeting destroying evidence.
3) The former head of the Treasury is a tax cheat.
4) The former Secretary of State is a defiant liar and responsible for the death of a US ambassador and three other Americans.
5) The attorney general (the peoples lawywer) is a racist and biggot.
6) Running the country from her puppeter bunker in thE is POTUS by PROXY,
Drum roll please........................ .................! ! ! ! !
Ms. Valerie Jarrett !

Having honest, commited government is hard work and usually beyond the typical American. They need to know how their government works, they need to keep up with the candidates and incumbents, they need to get off their asses to vote good people in and bad people out without regard to party loyalty. It's just too easy to always for the R or the D or to not vote at all. No, making new laws to cover this will not solve the problem because the people designing the laws are the very people who think they discovered a way to get around the law.
