Default Ray Epps update on conspiracy theory

As the rabid conspiracy posters don't follow up on their posts, here is the current status of Ray Epps conspiracy theories posted by them. They always say, "Just wait for the truth to come out" as their proof of their theories.

Ray Epps entered his plea on a charge of disorderly conduct on restricted grounds a day after the case was filed in the Justice Department’s massive Jan. 6 prosecution.

“Defamatory lies have ruined his and his family’s life,” defense attorney Edward Ungvarsky said.

Michael Teter, an attorney, said Epps’ plea agreement is “powerful evidence of the absurdity of Fox News’ and Tucker Carlson’s lies that sought to turn Ray into a scapegoat for January 6.”

In the aftermath of the riot, the “search for a scapegoat” landed on Epps, who was subsequently featured in more than two dozen segments on then-host Tucker Carlson’s prime-time show, Epps said in his lawsuit.

There is no evidence Epps is a federal agent nor that other federal agents played a role in fomenting the Capitol attack more than two years ago

He also filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox News and former host Tucker Carlson, saying that “Fox News searched for a scapegoat to blame other than Donald Trump or the Republican Party”.

More than 1,100 defendants have been charged with federal crimes in connection with the riot. Approximately 670 people have pleaded guilty to date.

If Epps isn’t raped in prison, our esteemed colleagues will post something like, “You see, he was a government plant all along.”

Book it.

Our right-wing nuts all believe stupid wackadoodle bullshit. When evidence shows their theories are bullshit they just change the theory. That's why you can't take them seriously, unless you're my buddy Tiny, then you’ll waste time trying to see if any piece of their bullshit has an iota of truth.

That Rey Epps is a clever Sombitch. He's throwing the Jan 6 tourist group a boomerang, and they will figure it out eventually.

"he only pled guilty on the lesser charge so he could be a stooly in the slammer to get in. The deep state is working on keeping him inside so he can help get more dirt on Trump when he comes out on top in the elections, but is incarcerated due to the political witch-hunt"

We see your evil plan!!!

You could very well be right about that.

And yet:

Remember Epstein? w\Whatever the "truth" was/is, Epstein died in custody . . . under suspicious circumstances. There were/are plenty of people who might want him dead.

So, who really stans to lose if Epps continues to breath air?

Yep about 700+ were detained without bond or their arraignment hearing and locked up for a couple years while Epps was out free and cooperating with the authorities.

The judge scheduled Epps’ sentencing for Dec. 20. The charge carries up to one year behind bars, but federal sentencing guidelines call for zero to six months, according to court papers. WHILE OTHERS like the shaman got 41 months, others 4 years+, some 18 years. Sure lefties, makes complete sense. Even AP article leaves out facts.

Who wasn't arraigned?
Go ahead and cry me a river. Don't bother making something more up. The shaman has been out since the end of May. He did @ 30 months.
Just for a minute, let's say your bullshit about bond and arraignment is true (which it isn't). What did trump do to help them? What did the guy who called them to the Capitol grounds do to help them?
Not a goddamn thing. He raised money for himself. He didn't use his position to shine a light on the injustice you're lying about.
He left his base hanging in the wind. The only people who were denied bond were the flight risk, etc.
All have been charged.
If you would have looked before you lied, you wouldn't be as ignorant as you appear to be.
Below is an AP article.
It doesn't include the "facts" (because you didn't include any facts about bond or arraignment) you made up. Trump fired the wingnuts up and then left them to their fate.
Like nobody saw that coming.
Good thing they had the Constitution to protect them. The ex-president sure didn't.

Different charges carry different amounts of time. Epps was charged with a misdemeanor. Too bad you didn't research the charges against the others you mentioned. You wouldn't look so clueless. They committed felonie(s). Who recieved a sentence outside of the guidelines?
No one.

TB definitely not lying and not stooping to your level by calling you a liar or ignorant: direct quote - “When reached for comment, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia was unable to give The Dispatch a precise breakdown of charges or the total number of detainees held without bail—but the number is far fewer than 1,000.” I said 700.

If you think AP is fact, you’re naive. Also a large number of the 700 that were detained without bond or arraignment were held based on the “conspiracy” basis of the law - again overused to get folks to breakdown and accept plea deals.

Be respectful. It will help you in life. Later I’ll post a video from a well respected US judge and congressman who will spell it out for you.

I'm naive I believe a world recognized news source while you expect me to take your word about an affront to our legal system that only Jan 6th deniers believe?
Why didn't you say you had no evidence to back up your claim?
You say the AP article is wrong but we only have your word it's wrong.
To sum up, you claim hundreds of people were denied due process. And you hesitate to include proof. I included a link showing you to be wrong.
Your response, without any proof to back up your claim, is that AP is wrong. But you'll post proof....later. Post a link showing your quote so I can see a date, the context, and the entire story.
You quoted it. You should be able to tell us where it is. I provided a link to my info. Do you know what refute means? Prove the AP story is wrong.

I got tired of waiting for you to not respond.

Also, no need to post your video. Unless it is a stepladder, it's not going to help you get out of the hole you dug.

Direct quote? Something like that. You only stooped low enough to call me naïve while you were lying about the AP being false. And while you did get the quote right while misrepresenting its meaning, it just shows how far you're willing to go to hide the truth.
You lying in our first interaction is hardly going to earn you any respect. And lying about not lying sets the tone for future encounters

The story below is from the following link.

https://thedispatch.com/article/fact...-6-defendants/

"Fact Checking Vivek Ramaswamy’s Claims About January 6 Defendants.

No, peaceful protesters are not being ‘imprisoned without bail."

His tweet.

America now has a two-tiered justice system: Antifa & BLM rioters roam free while peaceful January 6 protesters are imprisoned without bail. Biden’s “Department of Injustice” has executed over 1,000 arrests for nonviolent offenses related to January 6, casting a dark shadow over Lady Justice & the foundational principles of our legal system.

The story.

"The claim that peaceful January 6 protesters have been held without bail, which has become widespread in some quarters of the right, is false.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, as of September 7, 2023, more than 1,146 individuals have been arrested in connection with the Capitol riot in nearly all 50 states, including 398 charged with assaulting or impeding a law enforcement officer. Details and documentation for every arrest made thus far are publically available on the Department of Justice website. According to NPR—which has been separately tracking every criminal case related to the storming of the Capitol—632 of the arrestees have been sentenced thus far, 64 percent of whom have received prison time, and the median sentence has been 120 days.
While it is true that some arrestees have been held without bail, this is only the case for those defendants who have been deemed to be at high risk of obstructing justice, a danger to the community, or a flight risk. “It’s just the ones who are accused of violent crimes that are being held without bond,” Gabriel Malor, a Virginia-based appellate lawyer told The Dispatch. “Even some of the ones actually accused of violent crimes are being let out, usually with an ankle monitor.” Richard Barnett, for example, was found guilty on eight counts in January 2023, including taking a dangerous weapon into the Capitol and interfering with a police officer—and was ordered to wear an ankle monitor and serve home detention while awaiting his trial date. Others, like Kyle Fitzsimons—a Maine native who assaulted law enforcement officers at the Capitol, forcing one to take medical retirement from a partially torn rotator cuff and labrum—were denied bail. Fitzsimons, who was identified as being a danger to the community and flight risk by a federal judge, was sentenced in July to 87 months in prison on 11 charges, including seven felonies. When reached for comment, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia was unable to give The Dispatch a precise breakdown of charges or the total number of detainees held without bail—but the number is far fewer than 1,000. Well looke here! It's that direct quote you were talking about! You trimmed it and removed its context. An obvious attempt to misrepresent its meaning. Calling you a liar was as far as I was willing to go so I wouldn't get pointed. My initial impulse would've surly got points for me.

GOP Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado responded to additional false statements surrounding January 6 detainees in a recent letter to Todd Watkins, the vice chairman of the El Paso County Republican Party. “Of those still held in custody, 85% are charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer, a felony,” Buck wrote. “The remainder are charged with conspiracy or possession of a deadly weapon on Capitol grounds, also felonies.” According to the letter, none of those being held currently or at any point were accused of nonviolent misdemeanor crimes. “All defendants held without bond at any point were charged with felonies,” Buck emphasized.

Because defendants are facing federal charges stemming from actions taken within the District of Columbia, those not offered bail and still awaiting trial are held in the D.C. Central Detention Facility (CDF).

Spell what out for me? Another GOP congressman who was cowering in a shitter stall during the riot but now claims it was nothing?
I think I'll pass on anything you have "to spell out for me".

+1 ICU. There are videos of Epps meeting the night before and encouraging, inciting to riot.

TB. Since your such a sleuth you can find reports of those held for significant time prior to bond or arraignment. And yes, you’re correct that shaman was released at 50% to 60% of a 41 months charge but he was let go for good behavior and the fact the video was released showing him being guided by Capitol police. How long was he in jail prior to arraignment as you seem to have a lot more time than I.

There were folks charged with misdemeanors and jailed for more than the normal 1 night or 24 hours for walking around taking photos inside the Capitol.

But back on topic, something fishy about the Epps case.

Default MAGA turning on MAGA. Sad.

Revolver News and Tucker Carlson invented the Ray Epps fantasy to sell advertisements. Epps encouraged people to enter the Capitol peacefully. He apparently didn’t fight with police or destroy government property. Testimony of another witness shows that he wasn’t responsible for breaching a gate to Capitol grounds, but rather was telling the first guy who did overrun the gate not to attack the police because “they’re on our side.”

He turned himself into the police. He had to sell his house and business in Arizona and go into hiding, on his own. The Feds didn’t put him in witness protection because he isn’t one of theirs.

Now he’s been convicted and is soon to be sentenced and people still think he’s a government agent. They believe the deep state (instigators of January 6) attacked the Deep State (Congress in the Capitol.) A hell of a lot of sense that makes.

Trump instigated January 6. Epps just thought he was following Trump’s orders, by walking down to the Capitol, peacefully, and putting pressure on Congress to overturn our electoral system and give Trump 4 more years. Epps wasn’t inherently a bad guy though. He was hoodwinked into believing Trump actually won.

I bet that Epps was one of the main reasons Fox canned Tucker Carlson. They figured Carlson’s wild statements about Epps would come back to haunt them, and they were right. Epps has filed a lawsuit against Fox. I wonder if Fox will use the excuse they and Sidney Powell used for the Dominion voting machines - no sane person would believe it. Well I don’t think that will work here, because the greatest threat to Epps’ life is from the loonies.
