I was working out in the hotel gym when I met a really nice 80 year old guy. We were chatting and he told me he was ill. He was in town to return to the Mayo Clinic. He also told me he had been single for 10 years.

Would it be against some type of "code of ethics" to pass him a card that had www.eccie.net on it. I think it would have changed his life. What If I made some of these and just went around passing them on to unsuspecting men in need??

Cynamon and Jules I think the two you need to work together passing out cards and I would be more than happy to take the two of you up on such an offer, name the time and place, ECCIE cards would be optional.

Yeah, print the cards yourself...5,000 cards printed at one those $9.95 specials...could be LOTS of people might be interested...including LE.

80 and going through cancer (or whatever he is going through at the Mayo Clinic)?

I doubt that sex is on his mind, or if it is, it's tinged with some sadness because of his situation.

I've certainly had some sexy octogenarians walk through my door, and undo my dress, but I would think it's not the norm.

I think that often, and I'm guilty of this as well, we start seeing this world as the norm, and start to forget that although WE know that we're just normal people, but others see us in a very different light.

If you gave someone like this a card with some naughty information on it, he could be REALLY offended. And you're opening yourself up to potential negativity. In what form? I don't know.

I've introduced myself, to strangers, as dominatrix for some shock value. And I've only done this a few times in all of the years of working.

But if that's not what you're after, then I would let things be. You really need to know your audience in this world and if you're unsure, pass it by.

Offer a smile. Some kindness. And call it a day.

Just my thoughts on it.

yes Elisabeth...I believe your right. I do see this as normal. But I guess it isn't.

I did chat with the guy. We talked about Obama and Bill Clinton. He didn't seem really sad.

But who knows. I still think he was lonely. He mentioned he had been single multiple times. But, being single doesn't mean you want to buy a escort, I guess.

maybe not as much money as you might be earning.

just like i'm not earning as much money as my project managers, delivery managers, regional managers, national manager, company ceo, company board chair, even warren buffet or bill clinton.
