Default Waco Kid's College Football week 5

What is Waco Kid's Weekly College Football Review? It is an ongoing weekly review of all things College Football!!

Each week upcoming games can be discussed and predictions made, name-calling after victories and general all-around college football discussion! Each week will be closed out by the next Monday and a new thread opened for the current college football schedule for each week.

Rules -

"Rules?? We don't need no stinkin’ rules!”

Actually we do.

WKWCFR rule 1

"Lies, damn lies and statistics!"

British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli

If you quote a stat, record, 3rd down conversion rate, an all-time mark or the number of jock straps an 85-man team needs ...

Post it! If you can't post a link to it, it's bogus!
What's valid in the Internet age? Just about anything! Any of the major sports publications, local newspapers, any of the big networks and official school and NCAA sites just to cover the big ones.

WKWCFR rule 2

Predictions must be posted 1 day in advance! If you haven't read the sports page and figgured out who's going to win by the day before ya never will!

Must be time stamped before Midnight the day before game-day, for any weekly games Thur-Sun on the current weekly schedule.

So there you have it, pretty basic! You can post on general topics of your favorite teams regardless of that week's opponent. Just remember WKWCFR rule 1

Winner: USC
Lane Kiffy has already dropped one to Stanford, if he gets "Mormoned" in Utah his PAC 12 and BCS title game hope are done.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Rutgers

Rutgers hasn't really been tested yet, i'll go with Rutgers since UConn has showed even less as a 3-2 team. Make that 3-3 after this game.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Penn St.
Win one for JoePa. We are Penn State!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: K State
Snyder schools FatAssWeis and rolls to 5-0 in an easy win.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Miss St.
UK is playing for Bobby Petrino. And with UK's money they might get him, for a while.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Arizona
RichRod gets LUCKy against a less than impressive Cardinal (minus one LUCKy win over USC).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Oklahoma

If The Pirate was in da house i'm pick this different. he's not so Big Game Bozo takes this one.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Clemsom
Going all in with Dabo. And Clemson's talent.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: TCU
This is a trap game for TCU against an improved Iowa St. team but i'll go with Patty at home.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Florida
Sorry Mikey, you haven't shown much on offense or defense so far. In the swamp, this is your "Honey Badger" game.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Oregon St.
Only three games in it's hard to tell how good da Beavers are. Better than the Pirate, this time.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Texas
Texas rocks DKR's house and controls the game with a big run game. We get a pick or two on defense also.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: UGA

This is the game of the day, the highest ranked match up there is. Going more against SC than with UGA.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: ND
Miami is not the Miami of old, until proven wrong ND looks more like the ND of old.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Fla State
Going all in with Bobby .. er Jimbo.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Ohio St.
Only going with Pope Urbie II because it's in Columbus.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Cal
TeddyBear. Why? Why not?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Oregon
The Duckies channel their inner Phil Swoosh and slap the Huskies in their house.

oh please, look at the source. rather biased don't you think?
Until the Big 12 (10) itself issues an OFFICIAL press release i'm not buying into it.

Big 12 Associate Commissioner-Communications Bob Burda said in an email Wednesday evening that per the conference’s officiating program protocol, dialogue regularly occurs between coaches/administrators and conference staff. But the conference used its official Twitter account to deny that it acknowledged a blown call and issued an apology to OSU.

Winner: USC
Lane Kiffy has already dropped one to Stanford, if he gets "Mormoned" in Utah his PAC 12 and BCS title game hope are done.

USC still has a shot, but probably only at the PAC 12. The BCS Title game is out of reach unless a slew of teams lose.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Rutgers

Rutgers hasn't really been tested yet, i'll go with Rutgers since UConn has showed even less as a 3-2 team. Make that 3-3 after this game.

Connecticut 3
22 Rutgers 19
Rutgers still hasn't been tested.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Penn St.
Win one for JoePa. We are Penn State!

24 Northwestern 28

Penn St 39
If O'Brien can do this with now, wait till he gets some good recruiting classes into Happy Valley.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: K State
Snyder schools FatAssWeis and rolls to 5-0 in an easy win.

Kansas 16
7 Kansas St 56
Easy. FatAssWeis gets taken to the woodshed. What's not to like about that?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Miss St.
UK is playing for Bobby Petrino. And with UK's money they might get him, for a while.

20 Miss St 27

Kentucky 14
Miss. St. might be what everyone thought Vandy would be, a possible king maker in the SEC this year.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Arizona
RichRod gets LUCKy against a less than impressive Cardinal (minus one LUCKy win over USC).

Arizona 48
18 Stanford 54
Well looks like the Cardinal have some LUCK left in them after all. And RR still has no defense.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Oklahoma

If The Pirate was in da house i'm pick this different. he's not so Big Game Bozo takes this one.

Par for the course for Bozo and Tubby still isn't the Pirate. Never will be.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Clemsom
Going all in with Dabo. And Clemson's talent.

Dabo and Clemson can score, but they'll have to stop someone when it counts. It gets tougher Dabo.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: TCU
This is a trap game for TCU against an improved Iowa St. team but i'll go with Patty at home.

Iowa St 37
15 TCU 23
I picked TCU before their QB got suspended and i'd probably still pick TCU. Giving up 37 at home won't cut it Patty.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Florida
Sorry Mikey, you haven't shown much on offense or defense so far. In the swamp, this is your "Honey Badger" game.

Will gator chomps Lester and hands LSU a "Honey Boo Boo". There might be a few more for LSU this year if they don't start playing better.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Oregon St.
Only three games in it's hard to tell how good da Beavers are. Better than the Pirate, this time.

Wash St 6
14 Oregon St 19
Not exactly the offensive show the Pirate or the Beavers are known for. The Beavers take this one but still don't show much in doing it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Texas
Texas rocks DKR's house and controls the game with a big run game. We get a pick or two on defense also.

Good game WVA. Geno is for real and the Heisman is his to lose. We needed that pick but didn't get it. WVA is the clear favorite to win the Big 12.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: UGA

This is the game of the day, the highest ranked match up there is. Going more against SC than with UGA.

This is what i get for going against Steve Superior. Shoulda known Richt wasn't up to it anymore than the old UF days.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: ND
Miami is not the Miami of old, until proven wrong ND looks more like the ND of old.

Miami (FL) 3
9 Notre Dame 41
ND blows out the Canes. Kelly is a better coach than Davie, Willinghamster and FatAssWeis combined. And the RedHeaded pipsqueak.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Fla State
Going all in with Bobby .. er Jimbo.

Jimbo fumbles one and helps Clemson in the process. Bobby's shadow looms, Jimbo. Get er done or feel the heat.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Ohio St.
Only going with Pope Urbie II because it's in Columbus.

21 Nebraska 38
12 Ohio St 63
Pope Urbie punches Bo in his fat nose. Bet that hurt. ahahaha.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Cal
TeddyBear. Why? Why not?

25 UCLA 17

California 43
The Bears maul the Bruins which is to say our Bear ate your Bear. LOL.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Winner: Oregon
The Duckies channel their inner Phil Swoosh and slap the Huskies in their house.

Ducks roll. Is there anyone in the PAC 12 that can beat them? Not today.

And the statistical #1 ranked defense both in total yards and scoring after 6 weeks is.....

the completely revised Alabama defense that lost, what 7 starters to the NFL after last season? Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Granted they haven't faced any killer offenses yet, and won't, but UT and aTm are both above average offenses.

One thing about LSU : that offensive line is a complete trainwreck as of now. Also, they don't have any receivers worth a damn. Mettzenberger might or might not be worth a bucket of warm spit, but he's getting zero help from his receivers.

And lots of folks in here know all about the constitution, well, I think it does officially say in the Constitution that only one Big 12 team per year can actually play defense. This year it's K State.

Oregon does go on the road to U$C, AzState, and Beaver. They're a different team away from Autzen. It needs to happen for my dream of Bama-ND to happen. Make it so Phil Knight.

Alabama. never saw that coming did we? LOL.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Good lyric quote from The Who, "Won't get fooled again".
Unfortunately that was written by Pete referring to Politics. How right he is.

Yeah, LSU just has no identity at all on offense and without the typical Lester Killer D to save the Tigers i think they'll have a disappointing year, by LSU standards. LSU's defense is good, probably top 3rd in the stats but the way the offense is playing they'd need the 1985 Chicago Bears defense to win anything major this year. LOL.

only one Big 12 team per year can actually play defense. This year it's K State.

Check. They play WVA at Morgantown. If anyone in the Big 12 can do slow down WVA it's K State. We came close, real close.

Oregon does go on the road to U$C, AzState, and Beaver. They're a different team away from Autzen. It needs to happen for my dream of Bama-ND to happen. Make it so Phil Knight.
Yes, Oregon has a tough slate of road games this year. USC knows they have to run out to have any shot. They get the Ducks in their house. Make it count Kiffy!

As of now you'd certainly have to consider Alabama the team to beat. For it all not just the SEC. I'm not a fan of ND but i do like Kelly, he can coach. ND looks like they are returning to big time ball. And that's a good thing for College Football even if i hate 'em. ahaha.

My early pick for the BCS title was USC, but they fumbled and may not overcome that loss even if they run out which is no easy task. They play ND but they get the Irish in LA.

There's still a ton of ball left to play but as it's getting close to the midway mark i'll revise my BCS title game as:

WVA vs. Alabama.

You likely that pick?

It's certainly within the realm of possibility, and it would be a fantastic matchup of styles and coaching acumen. We would try and shorten the game and employ ball control offense, how well we did it would be the key to who'd win.
