I screwed up. I need advice on a hobby phone.
I have never had a hobby phone. I usually go to strip clubs and take care of business there. When one of the ladies gives me her phone number we normally write it down on a piece of paper. Then put that number in the secure section of my computer and get rid of the paper.
The other day I removed my phone from my pocket and put it on the table so I could enjoy a nice HJ from a very attractive (8.5 or 9) and after the dance was over, she sat on my lap with her back to me for a little while. She then leaned back and whispered in my ear "I put my number in your phone and called my phone so I have your number. Call me so we can have a good time without anyone around" I was stunned to say the least. I said how much and she said "Nothing unless you want to pay one or two of my bills. We can just be friend with benefits." She got up winked at me and left for the dressing room.
I only have time to play when I get unexpected time off work or the weather is nice and tell the SO I'm going out for ride on my Harley and will back in a couple of hours. So if it's local it's probably not planned in advance.
I did not call her but she has texted me 3 times in 5 days. So far the text are just "Hi Tom" (this is the name I use at clubs when dancers ask what's your name) The SO heard may phone text bell go off at 9:30 last night, picked up the phone and said "Who is S**** and why does she think your name is Tom" I said "S**** is really hot 19 yr old stripper that wants me really bad, she has daddy issues, and loves old bikers." The SO said "Bull Shit, no young girl wants you. You know who it is or the name would not be in your phone. So who is it?" I told her it was one of the new people at the office and she probably texted me by mistake since everyone at the office has my contact number. I typed in a text and pretended like I sent it. The SO was satisfied and disaster was averted.
Summary: I need advise on a hobby phone. Where is the best deal on a hobby phone, minutes and carrier. I know to buy a prepaid credit card with cash and use that to pay for the phone and minutes. How do I register it so I does not come back to me? Appreciate any advise.
BTW, Yes I know I was stupid to let her get her hands on my phone and then let the SO do get her hands on my phone. Bash away, I deserve it.
PS: If you have ever had any experience of this nature, please share, so I don't feel like the only idiot on here.

If you have a smart phone, just get google voice. Use your browser to check texts and messages. Use free wifi at almost every place to make calls. Delete the app when you are not using it. It is easier and cheaper than explaining a secret phone which she may eventually find.

I so call bullshit.
Haha, this was funny. But it sucks having to explain things when the explanation could've been left alone in the beginning.
I don't know if having a hobby phone would help you out so much as opposed to having a better alibi or maybe just having a little more thought on how you do your dirt.
If you have a smart phone, I suggest downloading Google Voice. It's free and it works for iPhone and Android phones. You will have a fake number and you can sign out of the app anytime. Thus, your phone will not ring or make a sound when someone calls/texts your GV number.
Hope this helps and Happy Hobbying!

When your hobby phone rings in the trunk of your car when your out for the evening with your spouse its kinda hard to explain. Or when a provider calls you a 9:30 at night when your spouse is standing 2 feet in front of you. If your not using your hobby phone turn it off and make sure your phone is in the silent mode.

Google voice won't help if you let a stripper put her number in your phone and call her number from it!!! (Well, you could put the phone in GV mode so that it dials numbers using your GV number, but you'd need to put it in GV mode every time and remember to take out afterwards as well).
No you're not the only one that's ever made mistakes like this. I'm part of your club, too.
If you have a smartphone, you could block her number (put it on a list to automatically reject). And remember to delete her number from your contacts and call logs, of course. I think some phones can set special tones for messages from specific contacts. If you can do this, you could create a "silent" tone an assign it to "awkward" numbers. Of course, this could create more problems as you wouldn't know a message arrived and could be seen by someone else without you realizing it if they pick up the phone. I actually used just a simple beep when I was making this mistake with my real phone.
If you get a hobby phone, remember that you need a good (private) place to store it, and an excuse for having it in case its ever discovered. A banged up old phone is often better than a new one for not being noticed as easily.
Disaster may have been averted, but I'll bet it hasn't been forgotten by the SO, and you're on double-secret probation even if you don't know it.

Hey Remote, sorry to hear that about your phone with your SO. The same thing got my in trouble and I had to get a hobby phone and change all my identities on sites like this just in case the SO was able to pull up internet history on my regular phone. I didn't want to take any chances with the regular phone I have.
I agree with johnny with getting a Tracphone but I would purchase it with cash and from outside your normal shopping area. Never take any chances, even if you think nothing would ever come about it something might. With the phone keep it on silent all the time. You never know when you'll become absent minded and forget to.
In my car I mounted velcro fasteners to the bottom of my car seat and the back of the phone. Very sturdy and when kept on silent I don't have to worry about it being seen in car pocket or the trunk by anyone.
Good luck and be safe.

Prior to GV, I would mask the contact with name and acct from work life; example: (Jane Doe - blockbuster nw sales mgr)
I would then block the number for calls and assign it a silent tone through the "handcent SMS" or block it there also depending on the person.
It worked well until one day using voice dial in the car with a colleague I tried to call the real person on it called the friend instead.
She answered "hey baby, what are you up to...."
My colleague got a good laugh after I explained the mix up but the initial look of terror was priceless.... all the same GV all the way or prepaid.
PS...the SO will be checking things out...this would be a good time to scrub everything squeaky clean...maybe leave a few misleading bread crumbs like kinky or gay porn just to mess with her head.

Remote -
Everyone that posted on this thread sounds like they've learned this lesson themselves. Good news is...it's a common mistake. Bad news is...those breadcrumbs won't be eaten by birds. You're gonna have to make like Hansel and Gretel and outsmart the witch before she cooks you. Sorry, I couldn't resist the breadcrumb reference.
Do what others have suggested - get the TracFone. Pay cash. Scuff it up. Clear your messages. Delete histories. Assume she will find it. For God's sake, leave it at the office or something. Create separation.
If you have a toll tag, you're movements are logged and easily researched if she knows your driver's license number. If you have OnStar, your history (requests for directions) are searchable. Your cell phone carrier knows exactly where you made that call from. It doesn't matter if you have paperless billing, it's searchable.
Know all of that going into your hobby-experience and assume she is smart enough to follow the breadcrumbs. Remember, she doesn't have to really be THAT smart to see them. You just have to forget that you left one for everything to fall apart.

Remote - I was in the same boat when a young lady texted me a pic. I liked looking at it so kept in on the phone too long and got found by the SO. I was able to get around it finally but did a lot of research on hobby phones after that.
I bought a tracphone at Kroger and paid cash. Was supposed to have a big discount by using the Kroger loyalty card. Of course I told the guy I didn't have one so he scanned a new one, handed it to me, and told me I could fill in the information later.
I did not go with Google voice because one thread on this site discussed cookies and some other related issues. It led me to think that there may be (are) some other security issues with Google Voice and other masking applications. Also, who wants to download and delete the app every time you have to make a call.
A hobby phone is a risk. I keep mine at work most times. When I do carry it with me it is usually in the golf bag or a similar hiding place. (I like the example about the velcro above). Keep the security switched on ALL THE TIME. Mine has an option to start security at start up. That way if she does find it and powers it up, it has a lock. I can always say that I found the phone somewhere.
The only problem I have with the Tracphone I purchased is that it beeps every time I hit a key while I am texting. I think people in the next offices can hear it and wonder who/what I am texting while at work. I need to do some research and see if there is a setting that will disable this.
Finally, as noted in a thread above, that is also why I killed my former handle and came back under another similar name. My SO actually called the girl several times and if she (the girl) had let go of my former handle all hell would have been broken. I suggest if there is the slightest chance of this for you, ghost your current account and create another.

She thinks I lie when I tell her things like this. Examples:
Did you take out the garbage? Yes and I buried the dead bodies too. Thats BS there weren't any dead bodies. Your always full of Bull Shit.
Phone call. Are you stil at work 8:00 pm at night. No I am at a strip club looking at boobies. Bull shit this your office phone.
and so it goes
So your office employs strippers? Are y'all hiring?
No strippers at our office. No the powers that be won't hire anyone because if they do they will have to provided health care under Obamacare.
I so call bullshit.
I would like to but I don't have his number do you?
Haha, this was funny. But it sucks having to explain things when the explanation could've been left alone in the beginning.
If I give simple answers then she gets interested and keeps asking questions.

I never had this happen before. I'm going to get a hobby phone. I'm not that good at loading and remembering to unload programs on my phone.
If you have a smart phone, I suggest downloading Google Voice. It's free and it works for iPhone and Android phones. You will have a fake number and you can sign out of the app anytime. Thus, your phone will not ring or make a sound when someone calls/texts your GV number.

pilot4u2.0, Say What, bored@home, nillawafer, GoAheadMkMyDay, Bestman200600, johnnylongcaulking, brownsugarbaby, and BigTex77 Thank you for sharing your experiences and advise. I will be getting a hobby phone, I am seeing some provider showcases that say do not contact using google voice. I don't know why they don't like it. Could this be an expanding problem in the future? So I will get a hobby phone and keep it lock in the tool bag on my bike or velcro it under the seat of my truck.

Block her number with your carrier and move on unless you want the stripper more than the SO. It is the only smart option...that and keeping your phone in your pocket.
