Hotel Recommendations
I will be making my annual trek to LV for the December convention at the Convention Center. The main hotel for the event is the Westgate (LVH - Las Vegas Hilton) which I have stayed many times in the past. I prefer to explore other hotels and am looking to some of the casino/hotels on the strip with easy monorail access. Other places that I have stayed include Planet Hollywood and Bally's.
I only stay in the hotels for a few hours of sleep each night and prefer to stay in the moderate range hotels to same my money for play time with the ladies. I am looking for recommendations on hotels that fit the bill. Curious about the Flamingo, LINQ?

Flamingo and LINQ are mostly dogshit rooms, but if you only care about fucking and some quick sleep, they fit the bill. Being central you have easy access to Bellagio and Aria as well.

Valley Tower @ Harrah's
Some of the rooms at the Flamingo are a little dated but not bad at all. Especially if yours has a view of the fountains at Bellagio.
The rooms at the LINQ are on the smaller side but all of them were remodeled a few years ago so they are modern and wayyyy better than before.
The best bang for your buck, IMO, is the Valley Tower at Harrah's. Brand new updated, really, really nice but the price is very reasonable. Would go back there in a minute!

Flamingo rooms aren't too bad now that they are remodeled! My favorite hotel is the Luxor because of easy access to transportation. Prices are good and so are the rooms!

There's walking distance options (Renaissance, Courtyard, Residence Inn). I don't think Wynn/Encore you can walk through the golf course to get to the LVCC. SLS is the north end of the monorail and the W should be doing a soft opening by Dec (plus Lucky Dragon further west on Sahara should be opened by then). If you really want to slum, the Best Western just south of LVCC.
Downtown/East Fremont has interesting stuff going on if you want to explore a different side.

Embassy Suites on Paridise is nice you can walk to the convention & free drinks in the PM & cook to order breakfast. Talk about saving some $$.

I would recommend Flamingo like many other have. They usually offer a lot of discounts. Also Harrahs and the LINQ, which The Monorail is right behind the casino and you can easily go anywhere down the strip. There are also many other hotels and motels that offer shuttles to the convention center if there are a large group of you going to it daily, so ask or look it up before you book. There is also a local transportation bus route that runs like every 15-20 mins or every 30 mins, and it is usually like 2$ for a one way ticket.
