Trump expresses support for angry anti-shutdown protesters as more states lift coronavirus lockdowns

President Trump expressed support Friday for armed protesters who had stormed the Michigan Capitol, demanding the state lift coronavirus restrictions, as researchers estimated that the coronavirus pandemic could stretch on for two more years.

Trump tweeted Friday that “these are very good people, but they are angry. They want their lives back again, safely!”

Trump said Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) “should give a little, and put out the fire.”

Hundreds of people, including a militia group armed with military-style rifles, rushed the State Capitol in Lansing on Thursday, with some forcing their way into the building and facing off with law enforcement. An angry mob screamed “Lock Her Up” and insults about Whitmer.

Trump’s “very good people” language recalled his wording nearly three years ago, when he said there were “very fine people on both sides” at a deadly white supremacist rally in Charlottesville.

“See them, talk to them, make a deal,” Trump wrote Friday.

It is not clear what kind of deal Trump had in mind, but he has rooted for states to lift many of the tightest restrictions on movement and commerce and allowed a national stay-at-home recommendation to expire Thursday night.

Once people take off their masks and get back into a normal routine there may be a spike in incidents and deaths.Only those of high risk should shelter in place. Besides violent crime has spiked in almost every major city in America over this pandemic. So Trump might be right. It's time to change the strategy.

No that's not my point, dam you really missed it. My point is, it's time to open up the Government and get people back into their jobs and their life. If shelter in place was so effective we wouldn't have all these cases and deaths, of course assuming these statistics are accurate.

And how many of those sailors have died? Contracting COVID-19 means absolutely nothing any more than contracting the flu does. Only deaths matter and right now, I don't know of a single one but that is probably due to the militarizes reluctance to release such information.


I had to laugh at Brooke Baldwin of CNN berating a barber who said he is going back to work and she asks "don't you care if you die"? He says no because he believes the odds are on his side and "she says that she had COVID-19 to which I asked "and you are alive aren't you"? Not everybody not even most die from this illness. We lose 30 40, 50, 60,000 a year from Influenza A and we don't put 30 million people out of work and add 3 or will it be 4 or 5 trillion to our debt.


This shut down has been a farce that will take years to recover from.
