Go ahead ... Ask Me Anything
Your Local Mod will provide an response to anything. May not be the right answer. May be just a GIF of eyes rolling. So go ahead, ask away.

I can't vouch for the literal translation but omakase is commonly translated as "I'll leave it to you." It's an expression of trust and deference to the chef (or in our context provider) to offer him (or her) the freedom to express their creativity and skills. People making such requests often have higher levels of expectations but they also have the means to do so.

No particular wine stands out. There are so many vintages and varieties available that I don't recall drinking the same wine twice. It ends up being more about the experiences you share when opening up each bottle.

Dubber, that's a hard one. There aren't many local providers so it's been difficult to find one to meet consistently. Although my "Go To" bet has been Jennifer's Models.

I've got one for you, moderator. Is it me, or does DC hobbying suck? I'm here for the long weekend and I figured that it would be easy to find some GFE, standard stuff. It has proven to be an enormous disappointment. I don't know the town, but it strikes me as having plenty of providers, but very few of them are quality. I don't know, maybe I've just been spoiled by Texas, where providers of high quality are plentiful. I just wanted to complain, I suppose.

OCT -
Welcome to the High Limit tables. You won't find penny slots around our Nation's Capital - as least not like the ones from Texas. And even though the minimum bet is significantly higher, your odds at hitting the jackpot are no better inside the Beltway. Hobbying in DC requires deep pockets, skill, and a bit of luck.
Luckily, you're just here for a few days. So if you don't feel like a gambling man, then I'd save your chips until you're back in the Lone Star State.

Omakase,
Thanks for the advice. I've been to the east coast and west coast, just never here. I know that average rates will vary from region to region, and I honestly don't have much of a problem with that; I just expect quality to match the rate. It's like it's a sellers market, which is funny because it seems like so many providers tour the area. You would expect the competition to improve the quality of providers and service. Maybe the local hobbyists are too transient to establish good standards, reminds me of Vegas a little bit. I don't know, I just got here, so I guess my opinion should be valued accordingly. I just expected better from DC.

Sorry Mya, a little late on the conversation. I recommend trying WILLIAMS CHASE.
Our pick of the bunch. With flavours of juniper, apple and elderflower alongside subtle citrus, this is the ultimate tonic partner. Some serve with a slice of fresh apple but we like it just the way it is. The finished gin is distilled over 100 times with the entire process taking over two years, from orchard to bottle. You can genuinely taste the effort that goes into it. And it 48% you can taste the booze that goes into it. Treat it with care.

What's a good article for guys who are new to the hobby to learn about the hobby? I hate how guys ask me at the last minute if I'm available and expect that I will just see them without any references.

Omakase .... what's your fave D.C. sushi place?
Can't decide between Sushi Capitol, Sushi Taro or Nooshi this weekend .
Great Sake recommendations too please. *whenever I see your handle I think of sushi (sorry lol)*.
