George W. Bush cancels visit to Swiss charity gala over fears he could be arrested on torture charges Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1354211/George-W-Bush-cancels-Switzerland-visit-fears-arrest-torture-charges
Former U.S. President George W. Bush has cancelled a visit to Switzerland over fears he could have been arrested on torture charges.
Mr Bush was due to be the keynote speaker at a Jewish charity gala in Geneva on February 12.
But pressure has been building on the Swiss government to arrest him and open a criminal investigation if he enters the country.
Criminal complaints against Mr Bush alleging torture have been lodged in Geneva, court officials said.
Human rights groups said they had intended to submit a 2,500-page case against him in the Swiss city tomorrow for alleged mistreatment of suspected militants at Guantanamo Bay.
Left-wing groups have also called for a protest on the day of his visit, leading organisers at Keren Hayesod's annual dinner to cancel Mr Bush's participation on security grounds.
The New York-based Human Rights Watch and International Federation of Human Rights (FIDH) said the cancellation was linked to growing moves told him accountable for the use of torture, including waterboarding.
He had admitted in his memoirs and TV interviews to ordering the use of the interrogation technique which simulates drowning.
Reed Brody, a lawyer for Human Rights Watch, said: 'He's avoiding the handcuffs.'
The action in Switzerland showed Mr Bush had reason to fear legal complaints against him if he travelled to countries that have ratified an international treaty banning torture, he said.
Mr Brody is a U.S.-trained lawyer who specialises in pursuing war crimes, including Chile's late dictator Augusto Pinochet and Chad's ousted president Hissene Habre.

Glad to see you're right on top of events, BL.
The cancelled visit was to have been made in February 2011.

Torture
Well, maybe it's still not too late to arrest the sonofabitch for torturing the American people and fucking up the economy with his dumb ass policies too!
Why do you suppose that not one single GOP candidate has so much as mentioned his name in the debates?
. . . Not one of them would dare even to be seen with him on the same stage while campaigning for the Presidential race!

Would you mind telling us which "dumbass" policies fucked up the economy? Is it the tax cut that Obama renewed? Is it the spending that Obama doubled down on? Is it the bailout that Senator Obama approved of? Is it the TARP that President-elect Obama approved of?

Litany
You want to know which dumb ass policy of Bush fucked up the economy?
Didn't you already ask this?
Didn't I already give you an entire litany of failed Bush polices?
As the old song lyrics by Simon & Garfunkel rightly stated,
. . . Still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.

Bush's policy agenda ended jan 2007.
All screwy spending was Pelosi led.
Bush's real mistake was allowing
the dems just about anything they wanted.
He refused to engage the lies and propaganda.
Had the mistaken idea the truth will
speak for itself.
Bush policies got UE down to 5% in many
parts of the country- which the dems lamented
as still too high.
Proof is in the pudding.
Regardless of what you claim,
Bush policies didn't lead to a downgrade of US credit.
Nor was there serious efforts to depeg the $
as the global base currency.
As a footnote abiminejead would not be
looking to build an icbm facility in venezuela
if Bush or anyone like him was President.

I think everyone would like to hear about this policies. Since you wrote of them previously it should be not problem to repeat them. Just go to your DNC website, get out your secret decoder ring, click your heels twice and say I love Obama, and there you go.

You are suggesting the followers of Wasserman and Obama not only drink the Kool Aid, but they have also been hitting the fairy dust pretty hard.

You three dummies are cut from the same cloth.

I don't think they want to arrest W because of his economic policies. It has more to do with starting several illegal and stupid wars and killing thousands of innocent people. But that's just me.

You are not to be believed. You extol Obama’s every action as virtuous and divine, while you have blamed the Bush administration for every disaster except the Hindenburg. You probably think Cheney was the man on the grassy knoll. Sheeesh!!! Dismount your magic-carpet: your bathroom rug never soared. Quit the Kool Aid and fairy dust, and reality will be restored.

Fast Cum, take a warm bath, put on some Allman Brothers, remember that you're a living organism on this planet and that eventually you'll come down and be alright.
