What happens when Plan B fails
I'm talking about Backpage. It's not a matter of if but when it's going to be shut down.
Many reputable, honest quality providers make a very good living advertising on BP (Craigslist too before it shut down) in spite of it not having the "classy" reputation Eros does . For lots of guys BP is a great place to window shop or get their feet wet, in a manner of speaking.
I realize, of course, discussion and review boards are other places ladies can advertise. But the reality is the web traffic on discussion/review boards doesn't come close to the traffic on BP. If the ads from discussion boards yielded the kind of business BP brings in we wouldn't be paying as much as we are to sites like BP and Eros. I'm a firm a believer in TAANSTAAFL though (it even says it on my website) and I'd rather pay for my advertising than get tangled in the strings that comes with anything "free".
But back to the point. I'm interested in what the Plan C is. When BP goes down it's going to cause a mass exodus and if nobody knows where to go how will we find each other?
Guys, what are the things you like or don't like about the usability and layout of Backpage? What are you thoughts the kind of site you'd like see as an alternative and more than likely a replacement to BP? And most important, if BP were gone tomorrow do you know where you'd go?

I'm not really a fan of BP. In some venues it is inhabited by verifiable providers, but in a lot of venues, it is not worth the time scrolling through the pics.
If BP goes down, I won't shed many tears. I'll still go back to my steady, P411.
As far as the things I hate about BP. Verified providers rarely post their websites, etc. The girls rarely list their rates. Most of the time, it's a pic and a phone number. I require more info before investing any time. A name, a verification, a rate, a location, and for me, outcall info.

Never much cared for BP of CL. I only used them as a fourth or fifth option for research/window shopping.
If you say they generate that much business for you, I will just have to take your word, but it won't change the way I approach the hobby as CL and BP fade away.

I don't use backpage either because I've found you get what you pay for. There are plenty of ladies on eccie, escorts.com, and p411 to see who offer more what I'm looking for.

First off, I never use BP as a primary source for seeking providers. I do look at it just to see what a particular market has to offer. I actually think the layout and operations are fine and easy to navigate. From a technical standpoint, the site is nicely don (as was CL). The problem is the quality of those who advertise on BP. It is all over the place. You will see well reviewed providers on a variety of sites as well as most likely cash and dash girls. Since I'm a firm believer in that in life everything gravitates to the lowest common denominator, I will not give an unknown provider advertising on BP the benefit of the doubt. The only provider ads I'd seriously consider booking would be with providers who have a link to reviews or some other personal website.
Second, if BP closes, I don't think too many of us will lose any sleep over it. Something else will come along or the girls will migrate to other sites like ECCIE. Someone mentioned CityVibe. Personally, I find the site useless and for the most part out of date. If any site would replace BP on a national level, it would be E.com since they are now essentially an R-rated version of what use to be an X rated service. In the end, though, I would like to see more providers gravitate to ECCIE or other similar regional boards. I think ECCIE attracts a better quality provider while washing out the riff raff who hide in sites like BP.

Cpalmson,
Looks like your right. E.com has switch over to an R-rated version of what used to be X-rated services. Noticed that reviews as of today seem to give a little more info. than before. From a hobbist point of view just not enough info to to make an informed decision. That site used to rock, might be again someday.

E.com is still good for seeing who is touring and coming to my area. But, that's about it. I somewhat like the new review format as there are more choices on what grades to leave. If I have a question about what services are offered, I usually will contact someone who has seen a particular lady or look for reviews on TER or eccie.

I believe you will see more ladies come to ECCIE and E.com. Just like BP/CL, you do risk the less desirable or managed ladies coming on here and giving the forum a bad rep. I personally will just get my little black book out of my favorite providers in the area and make an appointment.

First off, Virginia, thank you for posting! Its good to see you active here my hometown friend!
As for the question, Escorts.com is a minor entity out west. Unfortunately TER is still the king. I would sure like to see more and more ladies out here gravitate towards P411 for screening and ECCIE for reviews/discussion.
For mainstream advertising if BP goes tango uniform, I hate to say it, but CityVibe may be the one to pickup the torch and run with it; they already have a very incestuous relationship with TER. MyRedbook may be another one if they expand out of Cali more. Naughty Reviews is the other possibility.

Only if the servers are in the US, and I can't imagine that they are.

Ladies, I have a question about reviews. Recently a lady I know got a bad review and about two days later it was gone, gone, gone! Can a provider delete a review she doesn't agree with? It used to be on e.com the ladies could offer up comments and tell their side. I am wondering since they don't have that option anymore if they can just delete a review entirely. In case you are wondering, I did not give the bad review.... lol

When was the review written? All of the reviews in which clients wrote a intro section and then a "rest of the story" section were expunged from all providers about 1.5 months ago. In its place were several generic pull down answers. Recently (as in a few days ago), those pull down menus were expanded. Clients still can't offer a review in their own words and providers can't rebutt. I don't think providers can have review removed once it is posted.
