In the U.S. -- the wealthiest country in the world -- that wealth is unevenly distributed. According to a 2015 Global Wealth Report, the U.S. has the largest wealth inequality gap of 55 countries studied. With a score of 80.56, the US had the most concentration of overall wealth in the hands of the proportionately fewest people.

The top 20% of US households own more than 84% of the wealth, and the bottom 40% combine for 0.3%. The Walton family, for example, has more wealth than 42% of American families combined.

I can assure you that it didn't just happen that way. The wealth inequality issue is designed specifically to exist the way it is by the wealthiest 1% of the population. These are the people that run this country. They control people with their power and money namely politicians, and they control people who have no power or money namely us. They fund wars, own the media and entertainment industry and politicize anything that can make them more money and they really don't care if a few people die along the way. This will never change until we can get to the people that promote it.

The mere existence of income inequality is not proof it was unjustly acquired income. You need to dig deeper - some motherfuckers worked hard and saved their money, whilst other motherfuckers are lazy sons of bitches who spend everything they make.

Freedom and free markets are the answer. We do not have a free market at the top. We have a crony capitalist, that is, fascist system when it comes to the top 0.1%. They own the Congress, and draft special programs, tax breaks and other competition stopping legislation. Democrats and Republicans have caused this problem. They will not solve it.

+1. Seems to me wealth accumulation has accelerated at the time the economy went global with other countries wanting to appear to participate in free market growth. Problem is the world is not a free market environment and laws do not protect average, foreign-country citizens that want to participate in commerce without having to pay off those in positions to govern. Ultimately leaders here who establish businesses abroad benefit from that reduced labor expense.
