The German people had gone through a military defeat, their young men killed by the millions, country wide unrest, and extreme inflation. For many Germans things had calmed down under Ebert and the Weimar Republic but many felt the wind at their backs of the recent past. They sought security, they wanted jobs, and they wanted to feel good about their country. German was divided between three major forces; the Republicans (Weimar), the Socialists (Communists), and the National Socialists (Hitler). Many were unsatisfied with the progress of the Weimar Republic and wanted change. The Socialists promised much the lower classes but lacked the monetary support. Hitler promised change, hope (it is no accident that Obama chose the same words), security, and a revitalizatoin of the German spirit. The Nazis invoked images of Siegfried and the German mythos. Enough German people bought into the image and the dream to put the Nazis into a position where Hitler could demand to be the Chancellor.
Jefferson and the founding fathers were aware how fragile our republic was. Washington warned against foreign entanglements not to be peaceful but the United States needed time to build. You notice that the oath our military takes pledges them to defend the Constitution against even domestic enemies of the Constitution.
We have people who support a party and attack the other party because they were told to. They are no longer thinking, just doing. The democratic party has failed to produce a budget in almost three years which is a constitutional requirement. The democratic party is challenging the rights of states to make their own laws (10th amendment). The democratic party has written legislation to remove free speech from people who own businesses (1st amendment), and they are colluding with our enemies the Muslim Brotherhood. I know some of you will read this and roll your eyes but the Germans fell under the spell of the Nazis in the same way. Crisis will follow crisis, the people will not have time to think before the "solution" is proposed by the same people responsible for the crisis. In 20 years Social Security, as we know it, will end. It is a brain child of the liberal left and has been defended at every turn. Medicare will end. People will panic and want a savior. In ride the people that gave us both, the housing bubble, Fannie and Freddie, green energy boondoggles, business killing regulations, and racial division.
The rank and file are no more to blame than the people of Germany but the leadership is another matter. All of these actions have been taken with the intent of dividing the American people for them to win elections. You doubt this? Notice how the left runs a draft dodger and says military experience is unimportant. Next they run someone with military experience and they say that military experience is all important. They ran someone with absolutely no experience in 2008 and that was unimportant. Now they tout that experience is an absolute necessity. The democratic party will say anything to win and have lost their core values. Someday I would like to vote for a democrat but only after they purge the socialist/radical elements and take back their party for the people.
