Long shot, but I would support it; maybe bring along Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisianna.

Just imagine Texas, with the border under control, oil and gas production without the EPA stranglehold and welfare cut to the bare bone; we would kick ass! The whole rest of the country would be trying to get in. We'd be deporting Yankees by the thousands.

Yes; we have port cities, rich agricultural lands, an industrial base, energy, and great workforce.

Texas could be a shining star; I think Mexico would welcome us internationally, and we could forge very good relations with south and central American countries.

After the complete financial meltdown (hyperinflation and uncontrolled rioting) that is probably going to happen in the next three to five years. Secession might not be just a pipe dream.

The Soviet Union broke apart because they went bankrupt. The central Soviet government could no longer force unwilling countries to remain in the union.

Texas is to DC what Ukraine is to Moscow.

Legalize and tax brothels, casino's and drugs, whew, Texas could buy all the southern states and Mexico with it's tax treasury, but yea, keep the yankees out.

No state has to participate in Obamacare if they expand their tax base. But the feds will always back down and pay anyway if those states threaten to give it's citizens their liberties back.

Is this yet another in an increasingly long line of the Far Right Wing-Nuts "the sky is really falling this time" thread?

Yep, I believe it meets all of the basic criteria needed to qualify!

Carry on!

It's nice to see the 10th Amendment come to life! I applaud the states that refuse to bow down at the altar of federal funding! Strike a blow for Liberty!

It's about damn time!

What a bunch of pre-adolescent little boys we have here, all up in the tree in their little "clubhouse" dreaming the dream.
