Hobby phone

Hey everyone, I'd like to get some advice on how to buy a hobby phone as I am still new to the hobby. I was thinking either T-Mobile or AT&T. What's the SIM card use for and why should I buy one? Your help is greatly appreciate.

a sim card is required for certain phones nowadays. just like any cell phone.
and it really depends how much youre going to use it and what for...

do you want to just call?
send texts? send emails?

i would go to a store like walmart and just talk to their electronics person letting them know what you need.

a burner phone isnt only used for escorts and things we cant mention on this site. the person at the store will be able to help you the most.
