Good read. Unfortunately, the anti-Obamites will think this is all good stuff, even though Ailes' Fox News machine has made chumps out of the American working man since 2004.
The greatest propagandists of all time pale by comparison to Ailes and Murdoch.
In my opinion, of course.
And now, one of their darlings and frequent panelists, uberconservative talk show host, State Senator, and the man who would force an unproven vaccination on your 11 year old girl, Dan Patrick, has formed an exploratory committee for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Kay Bailey Hutchison.
GOD HELP US ALL!

They ( FOX ) have top ratings for starters and overtook all others.
I watched MSNBC last night, Rachel's liberal BS show. Ms. Maddow could not help but mention FOX at least 5 times in her show, one was in context to Sarah Palin, another to a critique of Obama that was on FOX she was rebutting, the others various jabs. Bottom line, if you need to mention your competition by name THAT much it tells you they are running a race from way behind.....and for a reason.
Hearing MSNBC or any of the stations trying to catch up in ratings say that krap would be like hearing the coach of the worst NBA team saying that the coaches of the Mavs and the Heat are lucky but really suck, don't know what they are doing, blah blah blah
losers for the most part; MS ( NBC) is a has been...just another media outlet like the article linked trying to scramble to increase ratings or sales...all they are doing (as is the linked article) is increasing FOX viewership..
thanks

At least you didn't call it a news station!
Are you suggesting the article is less than truthful simply because it's in a magazine with liberal tendencies? Are you suggesting that Ailes never worked with Nixon or Reagan and is not in fact a very polished propagandist with buttloads of experience in swaying public opinion, polishing and dressing up turds, and getting them elected? Did you even read the article, because I think you fail to understand the implication here. Fox is not being slammed for having a 'slightly Conservative' slant, they're being slammed here for having an extreme right agenda and pumping out propaganda on a massive level to any meathead that is willing to watch it. I mean seriously, not since the National Socialists has there been such a wide spread mouthpiece for extreme right views. This doesn't scare you? Haven't you ever read any Orwell?
Fox is in fact nothing more than a propaganda machine for the right, cleverly disguised as a news operation. Always has been and I have been saying this for years now. What they do has nothing to do with news or even journalism and we should all fear the implications of being manipulated on such a massive scale. This is exactly how Hitler came to, and stayed in power folks. Be afraid, be very afraid.

I wonder why Fox news is the most talked about news station anywhere. I rarely hear anyone mention these other non News Stations like CNN or MSNBC.

Exactly. Just look at this thread, the OP himself ( and he has every right to as this is discussion and the free world) wanted to take a jab at FOX, this is a good thing. I want more viewers to tune in to FOX. Not that ECCIE folks are up there in numbers as a % of the overall general population; but this thread is free advertising for FOX News and bound to pick up a few viewers.
' Hitler' already exists in his modern day form in the form of dictators mainly in the Arab/Muslim world and a few in central Africa, Chavez off the coast of S. America and a few other spots aka N. Korea
Hitler came about the same way as Hamas is rising to power, let's not reduce our fellow Americans reporting the news ( despite what channel you prefer) and our fellow Americans viewing the news to a people unable to determine right or wrong. Under ' Hitler'; there would be no right or left or FOX or MSNBC to choose from, it would be chosen for us and if we didn't like it we would get gassed or shot at. Let's reserve the Hitler comments for where they belong, in the radical Muslim world where folks support regimes. We Americans ( right or left) are peace loving people, no need to reduce each other to ' evil.'
One can watch the most viewed network ( FOX) or simply turn the channel, that is the beauty of America. I would never consider the NBC folks or other liberal media outlets to be evil or liars, they just present their view from an angle I do not agree with.

Other than sporting events, I rarely watch television anymore! I get 90% of my news and weather from the internet. Over the past several years I have relied more and more upon Politico for current political news. I find them to be very reliable and non-partisan.

Fox has viewers and money and an agenda. fair and balanced, lol. news? hardly.
They tell you how they want you to think then ramp that up 24/7 and you thank them for agreeing with how you think when its precisely the opposite. imo of course.

I consider FOX to be more of an entertainment station as opposed to a reliable news source. Oftentimes, they are good for a laugh but there is not much substance! I consider them to be more along the lines of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. The difference: Jon Stewart makes a concerted effort to present the news from a humorous perspective. On the other hand, FOX makes a concerted effort to sway public opinion toward their specific political agenda. Fox does so by creating a false illusion that they are actually "Fair and Balanced."
IMHO, when it comes to a reliable news source neither should be taken seriously!

To many people focus on the "opinion" shows on Fox. They do have legitimate news reports. O'Reilly, Hannity, Glen Beck, etc are all opinion shows and yes, they are slanted to the right. I don't feel that they hide any of this. But I guess all of you who love to blast Fox News as being nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Right, will concede that MSNBC is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Left right? I mean Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow are certainly unbiased news reporters right?

Can't blame the bull for dropping a load ... only the poor farmer who steps in it.
In other words, Fox doesn't make people, er, never mind!
I have trouble watching any "news" program anymore. I find them all to be skewed one way or another. And I find Olberman to be every bit as annoying as Hannity, Beck and O'Reilly. (However, there are three of them for every one of the other.) Like BT, I get most of my news by scanning stories on the internet. The TV is for sports and movies; little else as far as I'm concerned.
However, I think Fox is about as far away from what we were taught was responsible journalism as any extremist blog in the ether. In my observation Roger Ailes has never denied nor made excuses about his right wing agenda - never throughout his career as a DC spin doctor and author of dirty tricks and never at the head of Fox. That's his mission, I get it. And I'm OK with it. That's why I have 7,000 channels! I have no problem with Fox news, as long as I have the remote. I only wish their writers were as clever as Stewart's and Colbert's.
Pity there are no longer any Walter Cronkites left in this world. "The Most Trusted Man in America." Wonder how he'd do on Fox?

Fox News is also controlled by the liberal Zionist media, they just cater to conservatives, as well as making them look bad. Rolling Stone magazine sucks too.
