Is asking this appropriate or down right rude???

Ok, we all know what we're doing and we all know there may or may not be some risk involved, so, tell me, does it offend any one (provider or gentleman) to be asked if you are current on bloodwork. I always ask a provider if she knows her status, not to be rude, but to be safe. I like what I do and would like to keep doing it, as long as it doesn't affect the lives of others. I asked a certain lady this question via e-mail prior to setting up an appointment and never got a response. I am only assuming that this provider didn't appreciate the question....no judgement passed on my part though.

I can see how some might be offended. Then again, it is a valid question. However, some ladies might be concerned that your going to want bareback. Other ladies might be concerned if you ask this before you have established yourself with them and think this some form of entrapment.

I don't find it offensive. I would actually feel more confortable with someone if they did ask. This tells me they care about their health and practice safe sex. I find that very appealing.

I would not be offended if asked this . Your health is just as important as mine is. Depending on how the rest of the email is stated it may sound like they will ask for BB in the follow up email when i get the feeling thats what will be asked if i respond then i decline to say anything back.
