Default Terms for us

I just read a thread and someone used the term "Hookers" and I found that insulting and had to restrain myself from PM'ing him with my opinion..so I ask you what do call us and what are you called(men)..In my opinion we are provider or for myself a GFE and my gentlemen are BFE's or hobbyist. The thread was concerning respect.

I would use either Provider or Escort. As for the guys, I guess either "client" or "hobbyist" works for me. I would agree that "hooker" or "prostitute" are normally used as derogatory terms, although the dictionary doesn't define them in that way

Words are words; they're just sounds and arrangements of letters. Which would you rather, a guy call you a "hooker" but treat you like gold, or call you a "provider" and treat you like a blow-up doll? Hell, I've even seen the very respectful "sex worker" being used by cops talking about stings!

If you allow yourself to be offended by words, you give power to anyone who can use those words. That's why a lot of women in the sex worker rights movement have taken possession of the word "whore", just as gay men took possession of "queer" and lesbians took "dyke". And I'm in total agreement with them.

+1

I am actually a very normal girl in real life.. live in the suburbs, pianist, homemaker, etc...

But when I work, I am what I am... call it what you want but I have sex and get paid... two things I really like to do!

I don't get upset if someone tries to label me because I know who I am and that is more important than what someone may think I am.

Smooch!

I prefer to refer to ladies as ladies, or my date, or companion. Those who use disrespectful terminology are usually crude in thoughts and behavior.

I enjoy being called a hooker....I also like whore. When I am with a gentleman, and I am refering to myself, such as 'So what brought you here to see a whore?', I use these terms a lot. I like it, it makes me feel like the dirty girl I am.
I do not deem it to be disrespectful, or crude...that is exactly how everyone from the outside sees us, and how many on the inside see us.

In generalized postings, I will typically use lady or provider, though when discussing legal issues I'll use the term prostitute.

While I can sort of appreciate "taking back" words like "whore" or "hooker," I frankly dislike the terms intensely and feel that by using them -- especially as self-descriptors -- the woman is cheapening herself. That's just my gut reaction. Intellectually I understand, but sometimes the head and heart differ.

When dealing with an individual woman, the only difference really is the existence of payment. And since not all appointments with me involve sex, it is in fact true that they are selling time and companionship only. Therefore ANY woman who sees me, whether we have sex or not, is automatically NOT a prostitute.

I will grant that it is a minority of appointments (about 15%) that don't involve sex. But even so, that 15% puts enough variability into the mix that a lady cannot be certain of getting lucky when I book her. If she cannot be certain of getting lucky, she's not even a "provider" much less a "prostitute" or a "hooker."

Guys call you that when they think it bothers you...you showed them it did.

Fact is, that's what we do like it or not at this given point in time, we are working as hookers lol.

It is only offensive when used in a malicious manner, as in trying to suggest that we are somehow inferior to those who pay for it. Personally, I always laugh at guys who say it as if it's some sort of reality check for us....oh like I did not see my naked body and the rates attached to it lmao!

I have always used the word provider for the ladies, seems to be the one most prefer. I consider myself a hobbyists or client.
