The question is, "are they dangerous?". Submarine sailors all wear film badges to measure radiation. Most of them get less radiation than someone who lives in a sunny climate. We all get radiation to some small degree. It is the amount and the type that is important.

Radon is a naturally occurring element that kind of proves my point. We are surrounded by radiation from the earth and the sun.
