Maybe I'll come back for awhile. Or maybe not.
It just depends how interesting your questions are. Post away.

I'd like to hear your take on how FOSTA/SESTA is turning out. It seems to me, a layman in the legal arena, that not much has really changed in terms of legal risk to the ladies. But a lot of them seem to think that they're at much higher risk of <something> now than they were before.
1. Other than venues to socialize/advertise (like ECCIE or backpage), what is the legal impact of FOSTA/SESTA on an individual provider running her business in a relatively typical manner?
2. Heard of any progress on any legal challenges to FOSTA/SESTA? Is there more than one big challenge? Know of any good websites that specifically follow/summarize the FOSTA/SESTA challenge(s)?

Oh Shyster Jon,
You’ve been missed. There are definitely some ladies who could use your help. I will let them know you’re (possibly) back.
Thanks for popping in.
Xoxo

I'm looking for something more like Popehat or SCOTUSblog. EFF may be my best bet? I was hoping some provider or attorney would have a blog that follows this issue and provides analysis or aggregates links to good articles that provide analysis.

My ECCIE Reviews

Hi Shyster John, welcome back!!!
I don't have a question, just a comment. In my opinion, I think that more or less the government was FORCED to pass FOSTA because of Backpage.
Backpage knowingly allowed for dangerous criminal traffickers to advertise and profited off of it. Any computer literate person could post an ad there. Craigslist as well. But only Craigslist took proactive measures ahead of the coming war.
In latter 2015, undercover officers contacted a C/L ad in Houston.
(edit By Namssa - #10 - Topics regarding children, and certain images depicting children are not material for an adult-themed board. You must be at least 18 years of age to register and participate here, and along those lines, our subject matter is to surround individuals of the proper age range. Any mention or reference to underage sex is strictly forbidden and may result in loss of your posting privileges.)
Instead of implementing some sort of proof of age and ID, like we have for females here- Backpage took the money and allowed it to continue in a reckless manner.
Not implementing FOSTA would have been a gigantic Fuck You to anyone who cares about human trafficking, politically speaking. The public asked, and the government answered. I'm no fan of FOSTA, but I blame the irresponsible wreckless disregard of Backpage ownership to do anything about it.

Crock,
Youre asking if folks can predict what the court system can do.
The law that passed is quite extensive, contains numourous ambiguities, and in certain sections may violate constitutional things. Thus, this will at least get to fed appeals court if not further, and there's no easy synopsys.
Rolling Stone has a nice article back when the law passed.
We're going to have to wait till the attys slug it out in court.

Uh, no.
Again, I'm asking for a site like Popehat or SCOTUSblog that provides summaries and analysis of this issue. Or links to such analysis.

Thank God you're back, SJ. I was beginning to depend on Giuliani for advice.

She hasn't hit on FOSTA/SESTA yet but I've found cyb3rcrim3 blog to be authoritative. There's a lot of scary stuff in there

Shyster Jon
You had a really great sticky or explanation how people get arrested in the 'hobby'. Also the 'protocol' of an encounter with a provider.
I would really like to see that posted again

Welcome back Jon –
About the time you went away, I wrote to you relating to a legal situation. Looking back at it, I realize that it was way too wordy and probably put you to sleep or into a coma; it may have even been the reason you went away! Fortunately, that situation has resolved itself.
Do you still have your very reasonably priced retainer service for hobbyists?
Thanks!
