Prigozhin made the mistake of believing Western Press. He figured if he started a March to Moscow with a force, thousands of disgruntled Russian Military Men would join the cause.
They didn’t.

1. Nowhere in the link you posted does it state the plane was ‘shot down’ as you stated, only that it crashed.
2. It has not been physically confirmed he died in the crash, only that he was on the passenger list.

You are correct. Out of the countless links, I managed to find one that did not discuss the plane being “shot down”
I like the way one of the commentators states that if Putin did order his military to shoot the plane down, that crosses a line that even a slug like Putin should understand.
You don’t use honorable soldiers to do your political dirty work. The Russian public just might stand up and take notice.

Keane speculated today that it was a planted bomb rather than a sam fired from the ground. this makes sense for several reasons, none the least of which you'd create a trail of Putin ordering a General to order a Colonel to order a lieutenant to order a sergeant to shoot down a civilian jet that poses no threat to Russia (even if they made up something the body trail is too long what's Putin gonna do now? arrange traffic accidents for all these people?) and it avoids radar that would detect a missile.

If you were a pilot, or an ordinary passenger, and you saw Prigozhin’s name on your passenger manifest, would you say, “fuck this, I’m getting off”.
all of the passengers were high ranking Wagner Group leaders including the co-founder. Putin took out the Wagner Group leadership and settled his score with Prigozhin in one fell swoop.
