Talking Odd inquiry.. bunnies?

Anyone know of any rabbit breeders in the Austin area?

Not looking for farm house bunnies, but like hotots, or lionhead, etc..
I am looking for a new fuzzy companion.

I had a dutch lop and was litter box trained. She used to follow me around my apartment like a little dog and sleep on my lap.. but alas she is no longer with me. *sad*

but anyways!
Look! A bunny!

PeAch:

You might try Austin House Rabbit Resource Network
http://rabbitresource.org/rabbits/th...ls.php?album=2
lots of available rabbits. Lionheads have turned up repeatedly on CraigsList although there are none on offer at the moment. Craigslist is a a good place to find all sorts of things, except reliable P4P partners

One thing to remember about female rabbits is that unless they are neutered they will almost all get uterine cancer in a few years. I was shocked to find that out when I took a former family pet to what I think is the only rabbit specialist vet in town. I felt guilty about not having studied enough to have known that.

Good luck. It's good to see you here.

Dear Peach,

We have two bunnies. We bought a precious one a month ago at Tomlinson's on Airport, and it is box-trained already. I think it was only 10 or 12. Some stores, like Zookeepers (they have bee-utiful bunnies, tiny babies too) charge 29. I just looked at both stores this week, Zkpr has many while Tmlnsn has just a few. ~Either store has very healthy animals, and you can't go wrong.

I love animals too!

Thank you Grey and Kitty so much for the info!

I've been hunting craigslist for a while now, trying to contact a few breeders without much success. I think I will check out those shops you recommended, Kitty, and the link you provided for me, Grey!

I'm very excited, I love bunnies.

That's a picture of my lop I was talking about.

Peach; whata very cute bunny! Almost as cute as my bunnies! lol. It is great to see other rabbit people on here.

Greymouse is correct. I have used Rabbit Resource and the people there are extremely helpful, or know someone to connect you with. They are top notch people. For my privacy, I built my house in the country and my closest neighbors are over a mile apart. My rabbits are all outdoor bunnies with four foot by four foot hutches and a 20 by 20 playpen. It is so much fun to get in the pen with them and romp around.

Unfortunately, people turn their bunnies loose in the country, but fortunately, it seems they make it to my house! Some I love so much I keep and others the rescure people help me out.
Also check with the Animal Shelter, they too get rabbits in and will gladly call you if a specific breed shows up, but definately Rabbit Resource can help you.
