January 6th recommendations
And there it is...
The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol voted Monday to send to Justice Department prosecutors a recommendation that the former *resident be charged with four crimes: inciting or assisting an insurrection, obstruction of an official proceeding of Congress, conspiracy to defraud the United States and conspiracy to make a false statement.

Shocking...the bilateral committee have passed the recommendation for criminal charges for a guy who does nothing but grifting & criming. Stephanie Grisham says it best, "as soon as I saw what he did, I left"...
It's amazing how people with morales and ethics makes decisions in the moment. Meanwhile people like Kevin McCarthy, Lindsey Graham originally condemned the actions of trump, and condemned the insurrection, and now doing the two-step back peddling to today's support of a guy who's been shown to be a clear and present danger to democracy.

Oh boy, they really got him this time.
Love seeing all the libs get sucked in to the corrupt liberal show trial committee
The crazy ass leftist's Jan 6 Committee final meeting is the most insufferable piece of self-congratulatory rubbish, political propaganda ever presented. And the audacity to claim there was no election interference after the Twitter files Hunter Biden laptop disclosure is simply Orwellian.
Anyway, this referral is all one big
LMAO at those who think otherwise

i knew it wouldn't be long before this came up here. congrats you've outdone even the vaunted political forum as no one there has yet to post about this. and there's no short supply of Trump detractors there.
this entire proceeding is partisan nonsense and has been from the start. starting with the Democrats denying Republican members their rightful place and instead installing Cheney and Kinsinger to "represent" the Republicans knowing both would rubber stamp all of the Democrat's rhetoric while not allowing any rebuttal comments, questions or more importantly witnesses.
clearly you know this is only a recommendation. it carries no legal weight for action by Garland and the DOJ. Garland as a lapdog of the left probably will do his master's bidding for all it's worth which is nothing. a few facts before people get too giddy here.
as was just pointed out in the post discussion of this "hearing" not one of almost 800 rioters have been charged with insurrection. not even the Oath Keepers were charged with insurrection. why is this important? it means that attempting to single out Trump for insurrection while not once charging anyone including the Oath Keepers with insurrection means the DOJ knows they can't make a case of it, or they would have.
and as was mentioned in another thread, there is Brandenburg v Ohio where Clarence Brandenburg, a known member of the KKK actually did make a speech calling for the forceful overthrow of the Government. his conviction was overturned by the Supreme Court in an unusual Per curiam ruling where the Court ruled as a whole.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandenburg_v._Ohio
Decision
The U.S. Supreme Court reversed Brandenburg's conviction, holding that government cannot constitutionally punish abstract advocacy of force or law violation. The majority opinion was per curiam, issued from the Court as an institution, rather than as authored and signed by an individual justice. The earlier draft had originally been prepared by Justice Abe Fortas before he was forced to resign in the midst of an ethics scandal, and it would have included a modified version of the clear and present danger test. In finalizing the draft, Justice Brennan eliminated all references to it by substituting the "imminent lawless action" language. [13] Justices Black and Douglas concurred separately.
without proper minority representation, no rebuttal witnesses and even a television producer brought in to "produce" a tv hearing, this committee is perhaps the largest political hack job in US history.

Yes referral, might not go anywhere. While we've learned a lot from the hearing, I do wonder how it might affect the Justice Dept, if they do anything.
Here's a short blurb from Chris Christe, he thinks that the referrals will .. well I'll let everyone read it. God forbid I misquote.

Factual failure, TWK
The Republicans weren't denied participation. 2 (out of 5) specific Republican picks were vetoed and McCarthy then chose to pull all 5 picks.
Ultimately, there were Republicans on the final committee. That doesn't mean it wasn't bipartisan. It just means McCarthy made a tactical mistake in not getting 3 of his picks on the panel.

not really. typically the majority does not veto the minority's representatives and McCarthy decided to pull out, that may have been a tactical mistake but given who was hand picked by Adam Schiff, Cheney and Kinsinger, both outspoken critics of Trump and thus predisposed to a certain finding, your argument of "participation" is token at best.

Once the veto of Gymbo Jordan happened, McCarthy knew that nobody else would be able to carry Trump's water like that done by the master-felator/ fluffer-extraordinaire, Jimmy-loves-sweaty-boys Jordan.
Actually there's no shortage of GOP Trump lovers, but they are all embroiled in some sort of mass brainwashing scheme that Trump has them under. I've never seen a group so tied to getting a result based on their party versus what's good for a country. The entire reason the GOP lost the presidency in 2020, and did not take the house like they thought they did and lost the Senate in 2022.
They're the party without a message except for we love Trump and fuck your feelings

Really. Typically doesn’t mean can't. Bipartisan doesn't mean impartial to Trump. There were 2 Republicans on the panel who participated. Nothing token about them

The_waco_kid "without proper minority representation, no rebuttal witnesses and even a television producer brought in to "produce" a tv hearing, this committee is perhaps the largest political hack job in US history..."
Was the above written by just FOX news ala Mark Levin? Haha ...fucking such bullshit
When the assertion of charges and detail of information is being gathered, that is not the time for ANY defense. A defense happens once someone is charged, vs. referred for charges. This whole notion of the right not able to question the accusers or mount a defense shows just how stupidly ill-informed they are about the process of how courts work. It doesn't make a defense unavailable- but the GOP has yet again, pulled the wool over the eyes of the Republicans who don't understand how the court system works.
Relative to TV production...tell me all about it while there are people like Kari Lake was awashed in flattering portrait scape and warm lighting. Her producer hubby was responsible for that....and yep, she still lost.
While this won't ever end up with a court-case, it's good to show the cowardice of Trump and his supporters who would cheat to steal an election at any cost

Neither one is a RINO. Utter horseshit.
They were both very active in their careers as Republicans who voted for Republican/conservative values and positions.
Once again, left of you doesn't what you think it does. But thanks for playing.
