Don't know about it being a 'gay thing'. Mostly used by models for men's magazines or wherever anal display is needed.

I think you might be right. I thought they were close enough to convey the idea. Basically the dark area goes away.

How were we to know that? But you probably wouldn't skeeve out too many people out by posting the real "before/after" photos since anal shots in porn are so ubiquitous.
