8.5 Million Americans Left Labor Force In Obama's First Term

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released jobs numbers for January Friday showing that nonfarm payroll employment increased by 157,000 and the unemployment rate rose to 7.9 percent.

Lost in these headline numbers was another rise in the number of people not in the labor force.

This number now stands at a staggering 89 million, up from 80.5 million when President Obama took office.

This means that there are currently 8.5 million more Americans not in the labor force than just four years ago.

Forget all the other numbers.

This continued explosion of people not in the labor force should be tremendously concerning as it represents an obstacle for the government to ever balance the budget without drastically raising taxes on those still working.

From BLS.GOV. The U-6 number is the REAL unemployment number, not the watered down BS the media reports on:

January 2012: U-6 - Total unemployed, plus all persons
marginally attached to the labor force, plus
total employed part time for economic reasons,
as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all
persons marginally attached to the labor

force.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 16.2%

I was reading about this earlier today. I found it strange that there was an increase in jobs, but then the unemployment rate went up as well. Why wouldn't the unemployment rate come down a bit due to an increase in jobs.

The increase in jobs was not enough to keep up with population growth. Further, 8.5 million people have left the job market due to inability to get a job, and are not included in the unemployment figure. The real unemployment rate is probably 11-16%.

If there was a repub in the White House, the msm, would be screaming bloody fucking murder, and say the unemployment rate is 16% or more, but since they are carrying odumbos water, they are covering his ass, and deceiving the american public. Plus more people are on the government tit, (thats OUR TAX DOLLARS), and don't give a shit, as long as they do not have to work, and get US to pay for their way of life. Lazy motherfuckers....
