Default 1st amendment needs changes

Other amendments like the 2cd have limitations and conditions.
Past time to change the first.
Especially the right to assemble.
We need limitations to this to help curb these demonstrations/riots.
Give police immunity to deal with these events. When these demonstrations have hate speech and damaging property and interfering with others rights. That's too far. To many hide behind the first.

Let's have common sense 1st amendment reform.
Let's give law enforcement their powers back.

Winn,
Technically, college real estate is private property.
There will be court cases over this.

We need changes and real consequences to those that hide and abuse the right to assemble. Fuck deadlines begging and warning more than once.

No we don't. That would just play into the hands of the government... because right now it's people who's opinions you don't agree with protesting... next time it might be you protesting.

Missed the point.
Some speech needs consequences. No matter who says it.

I believe yelling Fire in a crowded theater is already on record as illegal... same with uttering threats.

SO there are already consequences to some speech. What else do you think needs to have legal consequences?

It’s already there. We the people aren’t demanding enforcement of sedition, incitement and libel.

That’s the only flaw in the system.

By the way, the second amendment does not mean what you think it means. “Militia“ only refers to people in the armed services or today what we call the military. If that’s not the case it doesn’t matter because article one, section 8, clause 15 and 16 gives Congress the exclusive right to do anything they see fit with the “militia“ so no matter what definition of the object of the sentence you use, Congress has every right to do as it pleases concerning it. Just because a politically twisted, intentionally disingenuous, obviously unconstitutional decision from the Supreme Court that you agree with does not mean something is constitutional or not.

Police at far too much immunity as it is.

The ol theater comment.
We need real consequences for those calling for violence and hate. Have your protest then go home. Don't hinder others rights and safety.
Give law enforcement tools to disperse these mobs. Whomever they are. Let them disperse at their discretion and actually make these municipalities follow thru and prosecute.

We have consequences. It’s called incitement. It needs indicted and prosecuted. Having a peaceful protest does not hinder the rights of others and it should be allowed 24 seven if legal parameters are maintained. You want to prosecute the mob but not the inciting language of others?

The vast majority I’m talking like 98% of the protest concerning the Netanyahu terrorist actions or peaceful protest. It is the Netanyahu talking points and anyone regurgitating them that is inciting. We are facilitating crimes against humanity and genocide. Shame on us we should be in the streets by the tens of millions. Hell we should’ve been in 1980. we consent to actions at least weekly if not daily governments have lost their heads for. Rightly so. “We the people“ suck

How would you like those changes to be? In favor of the Government or in favor of the people.

there are consequences. turn a "peaceful protest" into a full on riot and get arrested. it's just a matter of enforcing the laws we have. nothing new needed. certainly nothing too "extreme".

... Winn is right about some o' this.
Maybe not about changing the First Amendment, but the
"hate speech" and protests that lead to damage and
destruction.

... And make no mistake - the groups chanting things like
"Death to Jews" is Hate Speech, surely designed to harass
and frighten others. ... Should THIS type of harassment
be considoured "protected speech"??
