Default Texas Law banning Plan B pill after 7 weeks goes into effect

https://www.texastribune.org/2021/08...ng-pill-texas/The legislation would limit patients’ access to abortion-inducing pills, preventing physicians or providers from giving abortion-inducing medication to patients who are more than seven weeks pregnant. Current law allows practitioners to give these pills to patients who are up to 10 weeks pregnant.

It certainly would be interesting to see just how many people would or wouldn't leave Texas and other states if they had the ability to ban all abortions.

Not all Republicans support a ban. Not all Democrats want abortion rights to extend to the delivery room after nine months if the women decides she doesn't want "that" baby.

These are Texas republicans pursuing this course. Forcing individuals by the pen. The same republicans that believe in personal rights and freedoms.....especially for guns.

Religious zealots from the Middle Ages

Or a more enlightened society which many believe is what the future holds on the issue of abortion. Religion has nothing to do with guns but I guess that doesn't really matter to you and I guess you believe that there aren't Democrats that believe in responsible gun ownership who are also BTW religious.

With all do respect to Alex Baldwin, guns do not kill people, people kill people. In case you haven't heard, Baldwin is saying he never pulled the trigger, it was the guns fault.

The solution to the gun problem is not banning guns. The solution is, you lose your freedom forever if you purposefully use a gun in the commission of a felony. While I don't believe Baldwin intentionally shot and killed that woman, he definitely has some responsibility for what happened. I'll leave that to the jury but banning guns is a simplistic and unworkable solution considering the amount of guns out there and our inability to successfully ban anything that people want.

And on the subject of responsibility, it was just announced that the parents of the kid that shot killed and wounded several students at his school, will be charged with involuntary manslaughter charges. I completely agree with since hearing the details of the case that shocked me as to how irresponsible these parents were. It went far beyond forgetting to or not caring about locking up the gun. They gave him the gun! And they knew the kid had "problems" at school. There is reportedly a message/ e-mail from the father to the son saying "don't do it"

Quote:
A prosecutor in Michigan filed involuntary manslaughter charges Friday against the parents of a boy who is accused of killing four students at Oxford High School, after saying earlier that their actions went “far beyond negligence."

Jennifer and James Crumbley were charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter. Under Michigan law, an involuntary manslaughter charge can be pursued if prosecutors believe someone contributed to a situation where harm or death was high. If convicted, they could face up to 15 years in prison.

The semi-automatic gun was purchased legally by the teen's father last week, and given to the boy, according to Oakland County prosecutor Karen McDonald.
"Gun ownership is a right and with that right comes great responsibility," said McDonald at a Friday news conference announcing the charges.

Yet the present law was very much. 24 month. Viability.

Should the Court now defer to a state that expands the date to birth?

For 50 years they had hit the sweet spot...24 weeks.

This Mississippi law should be struck down. Giving the states the right to choose for the woman is idiotic.

As with most laws ( I would hope ) your personal freedoms end when others are involved in your decision making and we seem to be heading in the direction of considering a fetus, is a person with all the rights the born have.

Very few would move

That is the exact problem. But why do you have to impose that belief on others that may have a different belief ? Let them live their own lives. It will never be proven when a fetus is a person.
