Check out megabus. I think it's less than $20

http://us.megabus.com/ says dallas to austin is $27 for buses leaving sun 2/24. approx 3 1/2 hrs travel time. guess they dont stop at the Taco Cabana in Waco :^)

My friends kids ride back and forth from college on Megabus and they give them rave reviews.
